CHAPEL HILL – University of North Carolina senior guard Marcus Paige was selected to the 2016 CoSIDA Academic All-District team, the College Sports Information Directors of America announced Thursday.
The Marion, Iowa, native is a two-time, second-team Academic All-America. District team selections are forwarded automatically for consideration for 2016 Academic All-America honors. All-Americas will be announced later this month.
Paige won the Skip Prosser Award last year as the top men’s basketball scholar-athlete in the Atlantic Coast Conference and is an honorary recipient of an ACC Weaver-James-Corrigan Post-Graduate Scholarship.
Paige, UNC’s first-ever three-time team captain, is double majoring in media and journalism and history.
Carolina’s all-time three-point field goal leader (with 262) is one of five district selections from North Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. Other selections in that district include Grayson Allen of Duke, Evan Bradds and Craig Bradshaw of Belmont and Luke Kornet of Vanderbilt.
