Wow i was shocked by this. Not that he didnt make the team necessarily, but that he was waived in the first series of cuts. The jazz still have 5 pg's going into their next series of cuts so he was evidently behind all them. Looks like they want him in their d league team though fwiw. Best of luck to him.

I knew from the pure # of pgs on the roster that he would have a hard time. They need big men. Oh well. If he can make it he will get a chance. Play hard MP

I'm surprised by this. All it takes is someone who recognizes his intangibles and isn't caught up in his measurables.

Keep Pounding MP!

I love Marcus, come back to the Hill and coach if your NBA career doesn't work out...but I think it will....he'll be successful in whatever career he chooses..for sure! #5 in the rafters!

I hurt for that young man. I haven't wanted a NC for a UNC player that badly since Tyler Hansbrough as a Senior, and now not even getting a shot in the NBA just yet. The universe gets it wrong sometimes.

I'm in the minority in thinking that MP ends up on our bench a lot sooner than most. That said I hope he plays as long as he wants and transitions to coaching on his own terms. When that happens, his experience in fighting so hard to get to a FF and first hand knowledge of the margin between winning it all and heartbreak will just add to his passion, leadership, and understanding of the game to give him a chance to be an all time great.

Well, IMO if the NBA does not work for him he can still go make a lot of money in Euro-ball, go cash some checks young man. But I do agree, Marcus is the type of kid that players would listen to and embrace. I would especially like to see him as a recruiter, sharing his love for UNC with the kids he recruits. Go get paid but when ya ready I sure hope Roy has a place on his staff for this wonderful young man!

I really believe Paige has a future in the NBA, even though he took one for the team moving to SG at UNC, he ultimately slowed down his learning curve at the PG position. With hard work I would be very surprised if MP does not get atleast 5 years in at the NBA level. The NBA rewards smart kids and good teammates by keeping them on a NBA roster for years. Being a part of the UNC brotherhood will keep MP around for a few years.

I'll be keeping an eye out for where he goes from here. Whether it's D-league, overseas, or getting a shot at the NBA, he will undoubtedly make his team better. Kid has heart.

great player, great tar heel. but his two liabilities in college are even more detrimental in the pros: size and strength.
