Milwaukee fires coach Pat Baldwin after five losing seasons​

Milwaukee had high hopes this season following the arrival of five-star recruit Patrick Baldwin, the coach's son.

Patrick Baldwin was rated as the nation's No. 8 prospect in his high school class according to composite rankings of recruiting sites compiled by 247Sports.

But the 6-foot-9 freshman dealt with nagging injuries all season and averaged 12.1 points and 5.8 rebounds while playing in just 11 of Milwaukee's 32 games.


 
Hopefully, we will at least get a look IF he actually jumps into the portal!

If he doesn't mind being coached, he could really thrive at UNC!

Problem is duke has a big class of bigs coming in, no way he will be looking to share that much time with those incoming duke bigs. As for us, my gut says he may not be the fit to need we will have, we have Washington and Nichel already, I don't see need for yet another stretch 4, a big to go along with Shaver is our real need, especially if Bacot bolts.

I can't remember the last time a kid chose the portal over a first round NBA draft grade.

Generally, if you're unhappy at a school and you're a first round pick, you declare.

Agreed. He is in the 18-25 range in most mocks I’ve seen.

Numbers do matter. That's how you determine is someone is a bust or not. NBA only drafts on what they "think" their potential is. No proof on anything. My proof is numbers.
 
Unless there's some belief that he's congenitally fragile - which might be safer to disprove in college - I think he'll go pro.

That said, if he wants to come here, I'd definitely be happy to bring him on board. I assume the same is true down the road. Or pretty much anywhere in America.

Not a bad class.

Might still want to nab a big from the portal. Both Washington and Baldwin are coming off injuries, after all. But it might be hard to get a good big when they consider that if Washington and Baldwin are healthy, there might not be much PT available.
 
If Baldwin stays in school, I expect to see him at Gonzaga.

I mean, why not? Top program with a well-established track record developing transfers.

Another coach with a decent record with transfers is Larranaga. I don't imagine Balwin would consider Miami. Then again, it's been a chilly winter.
 
I get the feeling his dad was on his way out as coach, and he was in no way going to risk injury in that scenario. Nothing inside, but seems he has checked out on college and is going to prep for his career in the game.

I have tried to give you an opportunity to admit your error, but you can't bring yourself to do it for some reason.

Reading comprehension is your friend. You should be in politics, make a false statement and then double down instead of correcting it. Or maybe you’re a journalist, they do that shit constantly.

Clearly 1Heel is a refugee from TOS! He doesn't quite get that over here we don't respect or reward people simply for being crass. He might learn one day that spouting semi-coherent attacks is never necessary and seldom intelligent or he might not. But since he will be on ignore from now on, I will never know! I like the info provided by Steat, even though we don't agree all the time! I also like that he clearly supports his opinions with facts as he sees them. On a message board can one really ask for more?

I think Baldwin will work out and go pro, but I like the fact that since we were finalists, we might get a look if he makes the shocking choice!

Been over a year ago but I dont recall anyone thinking Baldwin was going to UNC. Seems the crystal ball was 90% Duke and none for UNC. I reserve the right to be wrong on that.
