Paul Johnson Leaving GT

Not if they hire Moncken or Niumatalolo.

Monken is a lot more creative with the option than either PJ or Ken Niumatalolo. If he weren't coming to Chapel Hill, I would just as soon him stay at Army so he stays out of our division. Please send us Bateman though.

The early word is that GT alum and San Diego Chargers OC Ken Whisenhunt is the top candidate. I can see many GT alums wanting him.

Bateman or Chizik - I will be happy with either.

Definitley helps us out. I would expect GT to have a harder time transitioning than we will. We should be able to beat them next year.

Talk about not energizing a fan base. A Wisenhunt hire would do anything but arouse supporters on the flats. Guess the administration wants to try the alum route. Figure they will be going through this again in another 4-5 years.

They will be happy just because Johnson isn't there. The fan base didn't like him as a coach.

He was about as consistent as one can be down there. Not exactly Mack Brown on the charisma side, which many don't care for. I don't care who they hire really. GT has a certain ceiling because they just can't roll through just anybody academically. Closer to Vandy from that standpoint than most folks they play

That’s the type of situation UNC has been dealing with since the AFAM fallout
