Pay back time

I love it. One of the most underrated #1 seeds in history, but I enjoy that!

One of my most miserable memories was the first time I watched the NCAA tournament. Up until 1981, I was only watching the ACC Tourneys (I can't remember why, now). But, this year, my Dad and I watched the tourney. I was about 12 or 13. I'd never had "my team" get to a championship game and lose before that. I felt awful!

I was on Franklin Street in '81. It was painful but I returned the next year to celebrate Coach Smith's first title. My Navy flight jacket still has a swath of Carolina Blue on it from that night, some guy was running around painting everything, even other fans.

Good memories!

'81 was indeed a painful memory..... I was working in DC at the time ...heard that Reagan had been shot and went over to GW hospital where he was...mass chaos people, SS, cops ,,,TV reporters,...everywhere

Game was on that night , many thought it might be cancelled wish that it had been

We OWE Indiana for that one and a few others

GO HEELS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

81 and of course 84 (Jordan's last game). But the sweater-wearing, chair-throwing, foul-mouthed mentor to the LOM is no longer there so.... Let's take care of business Heels.

lol, underrated??????

they were third in odds before the tournament started...their far from "underrated".

Lol. Ok bud. How many experts picked Kentucky over us? Hell, you were talking that way too. Even Roy himself said this is the most under appreciated really good team he's ever coached. You're right though, because you provided a Vegas line. Keep up the good work. Lol

Indiana can play some serious ball and Yogi Farrell is the real deal but Carolina plays team ball and one player cannot beat the Tar Heels. UNC will erase the ghosts of those losses in the early 80's.

If we guard the 3 point line we win the game. If they help off on Ferrell and Troy Williams drives then it will be a game until the end.

you should read before you post...i didn't say kentucky would beat carolina.

and under appreciated, not the same.

tired of correcting you, though...step up your game.

I trust Vegas lines as a measure of over/under rated much more so than TV "experts" like Barkley and some of the other bozos. There's a lot of money on the line (pun intended) with Vegas.

Agree with g, we're a 1 seed and the 3rd overall seed. Might be a little underappreciated though. We just need to continue playing tough defense and winning. Nevers bothers me when the so called experts pick against us. I actually rather enjoy it.

The Vegas line doesnt necessarily determine who the favorite is or who they THINK will win. The line is determined by how people are betting, so they can get more people to bet and ensure the house always wins

Should be a fun game. I think it matters which IU team shows up. Crean teams are very bipolar.
We shot horrible (6-21) from 3 against Kentucky so hopefully we are due against you guys. I think the Yogi-Paige and Turnover Troy-Johnson matchups are key to this game. We are also pretty thin at this point, with 2 starters and a big rotational player all injured.

just so we're clear...vegas had carolina as the 3rd best odds to win the title, with kentucky 4th...these were futures the day the brackets were released.

and i couldn't give two craps about these talking heads, even though they also thought uk would be tough to beat because of ulis, murray, and cal...glad that hurdle is gone now.

Well you're correct it doesn't necessarily mean who they think will win - as their aim is to get the same amount of money on each side so they win the juice regardless. But by definition the Vegas line determines the "favorite".
