Pep is a Charlotte North Carolina native. Was a high school quarterback at West Charlotte and college quarterback at Howard. Was on Jim Harbaugh's staff at Stanford. He's back with Harbaugh at Michigan after a couple of years in the NFL. He was Andrew Lucks quarterback coach at Stanford and then again with the Colts. Michigan is paying him $4.25 million to be the passing game / wide reciever coach. Interviewed for the Oakland Raider's head coaching job but lose out to Jack Del Rio.

Yes, other guys have head coaching experience but Pep has experience recruiting in a difficult academic school, has won at the top level of college, was persude by the NFL. Says a lot that he's back at Michigan with Harbaugh.

The challenge for us is that we continue to pay what we are paying for football staff and continue to get used car salesman using us to jockey for a better power 5 gig. The problem is you get more frauds (Fedora) than you get big time winners in this model. We will continue to cycle through coaches every 5-7 years Like this.

In rereading my post I didn't give complete information. His contract is 4 years for $4.25 million. In reviewing Fedora's contract you're probably right. Pep is too expensive for us. Very unfortunate.
Are you in his posse or just on drugs?

Hamilton coached under Harbaugh at Stanford only his last year there: WR coach. Hamilton is primarily a journeyman NFL assistant. Assuming he played some key role in Andrew Luck's development is not as silly as naming any OC as key to Peyton Manning, but silly nonetheless. Hamilton's career as OC ranges from high mediocre to getting fired.

Hamilton being named our OC would mark Fedora as more stupid than even Bunting. Hamilton as HC? That should get Bubba Cunningham tarred and feathered and run out of Chapel Hill on a rail.

i would appreciate fedora just paying himself to get more involved(as he just stated) in the offense...it's his baby, sword, kitchen sink, facial hair.

let him take it and go from there.

the thing I dislike even more than Fedora not being able to get us over the hump is that he turns combative and whiny when you question play calls?

like the one at the end of the 1st half last week that was a total embarrassment.....like not running the ball on 1st, 2nd and 3rd down with Elijah Hood against USuck a few years back when he literally ran down their throats every chance he got but instead letting Marquise Williams throw another interception in the end zone.

Hello WoadBlue: No I'm not on drugs and I'm not part of Pep's posse. While Hamilton doesn't have head coaching experience he has a diverse coaching background. Additionally, he is a North Carolina Native who I feel could come in and quickly develop relationships with the area high school coaches. It wouldn't hurt to say I was Andrew Luck's coach in college and the nfl. It certainly has helped Cutcliff in recruiting to say he coached the Manning brothers.

At this point I'm not confident as an alum that we can hire a tested, experienced Big 5 conference head coach. I think hiring a young up and coming coach is the best approach.
