Roy's proclamation: “I just think he’s the perfect coach and perfect human being to be the coach at North Carolina,” Williams said Monday, via WRAL’s Gerald Owens. “It’s college basketball. It’s a long season. There are other good teams. And, regardless of what North Carolina fans think, it’s not our divine right to win every game.”

If Dean is God, does that make Roy Jesus? And how can any one doubt what Jesus says? Davis is perfect!

You do not have a divine right to win every game. So shut up and worship as you've been instructed, no matter the losses.

I take this as go ahead and be a fan. Cheer and feel good, whine and moan, do you. That is your personal fandom, not unlike every other fan of any other team. Fan does come from fanatic, not usually the term used for rational thoughts and behavior.

You are useless sometimes... most times. Instructed? LOL... And, what an impressive juxtaposition of the Trinity. Is Hubert the Holy Spirit?

Your expertise is being wasted on a message board.

"...regardless of what North Carolina fans think, it’s not our divine right to win every game.”
Help me Jesus. Why would I want a coach who feels that way?

Of course we won't actually win every game. But it's absolutely our divine right to win every game.

Here's what God really said: "I have bestowed the right upon you to win every game."

What people forget is what God said next: "Now it's up to you to figure out how."

Followed by: "Good luck with that."

Since we only lose because we have displeased God, it's becoming clear that God is mad at Hubert. Or maybe at UNC fans.

Always made me laugh, so God was rooting against the other slugs playing 😆

What would anyone expect Roy to say?

He picked him if he never won another game, he would never admit he wasn't the guy for the job.

Hubert may very well be the guy, at least I hope he is!

One thing about college basketball. I think fit is really really important. It might be the most important thing for a program. I don’t know if Hubert fits perfectly. UNC isn’t about change on the court. Pretty traditional program and somewhat set in its ways? Not sure, but I do think he proved a few things positively last season.

Correct. Roy's ego is not going to allow him to admit that perhaps him deciding that only Davis could follow him was a bad idea.

Hubert Davis is not perfect. There have been multiple occasions where he talked about tweaks, accountability with playing time. He is just saying things that sound good. He doesn’t mean it; he’s a blowhard.

I don't believe any coach in the country could have done less with this much talent. 60 years of setting the standard and then this. For his system to match UNC's past level of success he would have to have 6-7 pros on the team and keep them on the team for multiple years. K tried it at dook the last 5-6 years. He couldn't get it to work either. What works in the NBA won't necessarily work in the NCAA.

Roy is never going to condemn Hubert, as picking him to lead the program was really little more than Roy’s last chance to tip his hat to Dean and do something Dean was unable to do when he retired which was to elevate Phil to HC. But Phil’s off court antics prevented that from happening. And as much as I love Roy, I believe he should have allowed the people responsible to have the option of hiring a guy that was a proven winner, and not the situation where we all hoped Hubert would be a good HC, but it was a guess

Woad you need this for ND tonight "you do not have a divine right to win every game. So shut up and worship as you've been instructed, no matter the losses."
