I will go with Fowler.... just for kicks and no real reason at all other than I want him to win at least one major championship.

Hideki is just ridiculous though

Rory has had success here. I would love to see Fowler win but not confident he will. Yeah, Matsuyama is pretty ridiculous if he putts well.

I got Al Czervik going all the way

in a pool(blind draw) for a $10 entry fee to win $4000 i have these five...the format is total and three must make the cut.

day
rahm
w. bryan
matsuyama
haas

needless to say, i wouldn't have selected any of them, cept maybe haas.

so what did i miss on the 4th?

did they trick the hole out with all these dudes complaining?

this course isn't really "tricky" but it's silly long.

No it's not tricky but the greens will be a test and yes it is silly long. Brooks Koepka all day long. Guy is a stud.

The tent is great there, but no good viewpoints. I was there yesterday and didn't stay in it long.

+11 now thru 11. Bones is laughing his ass off I bet.

Why would Bones be laughing? He and Phil are very close and from all accounts, there were no hard feelings whatsoever when they split.

Also, it's impossible for me to comprehend why anyone would not want Phil to do well. Golf is better with Phil.

I'm a huge Phil fan. But it is pretty obvious that without Bones he's not the same.

I agree. But I doubt Bones takes pleasure in watching his good friend struggle. I'm at a loss as to why they went their separate ways. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Strange.

Did you hear Phil's interview after missing the cut? He said it's not a swing problem, rather a mental one. Said he couldn't visualize his shots. I think Phil might be in his own head about their break up. Sounds like he's having a hard time coming to grips with it. His brother obviously doesn't offer him that calming, zen-like presence that Bones did.

Also, that's really telling of how mental the game of golf is for professionals. When I golf, I never "visualize" anything. I just hope to advance the ball and stay out of trouble. I just get up to the ball and whack it. I'd love to be in the heads of some of these guys when they're playing a round. Would be interesting to see all that's going on in there.

I never understood the breakup myself. That's why I felt something must have been wrong btw the two.

Oosty's swing is superb.... Just about dead solid perfect tempo and timing.
Yeah, if Oosty hadn't hurt himself, he may have really done something yesterday. I couldn't believe what Jason Day did on 18. He had had a pretty bad day, but had managed to get back in it but then to make a bone-headed play like that was unbelievable.

Looking like maybe Divine Intervention for Justin Thomas after that

Thomas wins it!! Nice nice show with Speith and Ricky greenside to congratulate him Real class

This Quail Hollow is one tough track.... really tough.... Thomas is a deserved champion

Yeah, that was a really bad decision. Right when I started playing in amateur tournies I would make decisions like that. Then I started just taking my medicine. However, in our local 3 day city am a few weekends ago I hit right on a par 5 (not a crazy short par 5 but one I can reach in two but that I tend to struggle with consistently for whatever reason) in the trees. Sure enough the old me comes out and I try and draw punch it through a small window and end up with a 7. It is always interesting to me that the big boys on the main stage tend to do the same crap we do at times.

Really liked to see Thomas win one. He has been a really good player for a while.

fwiw, the talent on the side of the united states is now as strong as it's ever been.

having said that, until we learn to kill in a ryder cup, we're still just the opponent.

Fwiw, golf at that level is hugely in the head. I played college golf, scratch handicap, and the guys that make it further have it in their head so to speak. I did not. I played w Jonathan Byrd, Lucas Glover, DJ Trahan, Charles Warren. All have won. It's such a fine line at the highest level. They all can hit the shots, it's just can they when they have to. Golf is an amazing game at that level. I love watching.

Yep, tons of great young talent in the US. Have to take control and stop choking in the RC though.

Yeah, I don't doubt it. I know a few guys who have competed against some pros and made a run at the tour and they hit it incredibly. There is just a difference though and I'm sure a lot of it is mental.
