Read we are in the PK80 to play around Thanksgiving, two brackets, a bunch of good teams and for early on games a good test for the Heels.
This little tourney will tell us a great deal about the '17-'18 Tar Heels.

All I am hearing out here from my Hog buddies is that they have our potential match up circled....feel like they owe us one!!!! I simply hold up 1 finger and say National Champs babyyyyyy!!!!! In all seriousness the Hogs will be a great test for UNC that early in the season....Hogs will be better next year then they were this year! Looking forward to it!!!

This year's early tests could be scary after losing our top big men (Kennedy, Isaiah, Tony) plus our top scorer and arguably best player (Justin).

I really want to see matchups like Arkansas and Michigan State, but those will be tough tests. Even Roy's perennial hex on Izzo may not prevail this time around.

That said, I think we are in the easier bracket. I could be wrong, because I haven't analyzed the teams. So feel free to set me straight on that.

I don't foresee much being easy for our Heels next year, but I expect a fun ride! Early on these teams could all challenge us, but by ACC time, I expect to be right back in our rightful place. Let's start the year with a Champ Trophy to sit just under the Natty!

Numbers are last season's Pomeroy rankings.

1 - Portland (280)
2 - Arkansas (35) or Oklahoma (65)
2 - Oregon (10), MSU (40), Georgetown (69) or UConn (96)

One of the "experts" said MSU was a top 5 team. IMO, Bridges may be a monster for them this season.

The other bracket, from Duke's perspective, looks like this:

1 - Portland State (240)
2 - Butler (25) or Texas (70)
3 - Gonzaga (1), Florida (5), Ohio State (73), Stanford (102)

It's quite surprising he came back. Likely a lottery pick. I hope it's because he just wants to enjoy his college experience, and that he doesn't get penalized for it.

Amazing how the program that "claims" to be the greatest of all time, the needle that moves college basketball & the gold standard of college basketball is too damn scared to get in this event.

Kentucky or UCLA?

No great expectations for next season. It will be a fun ride.

This.

Next season is a "honeymoon" year for me. Especially after losing Bradley and winning the title. Give Roy time to rebuild with the 2018 and 2019 class.

Expect a deep tourney run during the Black & White combo's tenure.

I expect to contend for the ACC and to make a deep tourney run every year! This is the birthright of being a Tar Heel fan!

The difference is, a Natty sure does make it easy to swallow if the team falls a little short. I think the best parts of next year will be:

1. Watching our genius Coach and his mad scientist lineups
2. Watching the Nastiest Dog on the planet eat frosh for breakfast
3. Finding out which of our "potentials" will break out (KW, BRob, 7th, Felton, Brohuffley)
4. TP in all his glory
5. Finding out if Maye has an even higher level
6. Finding out who is the Ace up Roy's sleeve (CJ, Grad Transfer, unknown, decommit)
7. The embarrassment of ABCers and the NCAA
8. AND learning to love another crop of great guys that just happen to play great ball!

Man, It's good to be the King.....again!

MSU is going to be VERY good next year. Luckily we get them early as they are usually a squad that struggles early.
