Initially I tried to post this on the UVa site to attract UVa fans coming to CH for the game but it seems that I have "insufficient privileges" to post there. So I'll try here instead, with the understanding that it's available to either UNC or UVa fans and for other games too.
I live 2 miles south of the UNC campus in a nice development named Southern Village. On home football Saturdays a bus runs to and from campus for $5 per round trip per person, in case you don't want to take your car to the game. There are restaurants and a movie theater and a little grocery store and a coffee shop the next street over. And yet I can still sit on my deck at night and listen to the crickets because it's not a big business or high traffic area. I'm indoors as I type this and I hear nothing but the crickets outside and the ceiling fan whirring overhead. Peaceful!
I have a 2 BR 2 BA condo that I bought last year. I can send pics if you like but I don't want to put them on a public message board. I live alone and I don't need a giant master BR with private BA, so I use the small BR and BA. Thus the master suite has gone unused since I bought it except for a couple short term guests. So that is rent-able for games for sure. But in addition, for the UVa game I may be out of town that weekend in which case the entire place may be rent-able, although if I do that I'm going to have to feel sure you won't trash the place and maybe get a deposit or something.
I'm a little reticent to do this since I may be away during that time but I thought I'd at least see if there's any interest. It's on the 2nd floor (with its own entry from the outdoors) just in case anyone has issues going up and down stairs. It's available for Thu, Fri, Sat night, whenever.
I'm negotiable but considering what (to my understanding) hotels in CH charge on football weekends I think it's reasonable to ask $200 per night for the master BR/BA suite and $375 per night for the entire place. And of course you'd have the run of the rest of the place, which is LR/DR, Kitchen, Laundry Room and deck. There is a queen size bed in each BR and I've got an air mattress and a couch as well as a lot of floor space.
If you're interested or know somebody that is, let me know. Thanks.
