Playboy will no longer feature nude pictorials

They said the reason for it was the internet. With nudies so easily available there, the Playboy subscribers fell from 5.6 million down to 800k. Those 800k must be old men without computers.

The chicks in Playboy have always been the hottest ones though. Not saying that Hugh wasn't above throwing out a skank every now and again, but for the most part, Playmates were the girl next door.

I assume they want to put out a Maxim-like publication, which can be sold at any newsstand and won't need an ID.
It'$ all about adverti$ing. They think they can bring in more adverti$ers without the nudity, and they're betting that the circulation won't be impacted too heavily. Personally I doubt that's a good bet, since I don't think anybody actually reads Playboy for the articles, but I guess time will tell.

True. But as a 13 year old, when I found out that the sluttier girls were in Club and Hustler and they were even porning out, Playboy became only worthwhile because of the jokes.
I read a story today that made me sad and it speaks to this end of an era. Hef is not doing well. I read an interview with a bunny and she says that Hef doesn't go out much anymore and that instead of sex, he prefers chess and other board games. She also said that if you go to the Playboy Mansion, you'll find more nurses there than scantily clad women these days because Hugh needs so much support at the age of 89.
I refuse to believe that they are not scantily-clad nurses, though.
