First things first, I AM A TAR HEEL and will be one until I die! I also don't enjoy doing this thread and am just looking for other reasons why we see such bad basketball from this team and that includes our Coaches!
Having said that, is it possible that this group of kids are just happy wearing the uniform at North Carolina and all the "perks" that go with it; getting all the free gear, shoes, clothes, etc. Getting the adulation, the excessive admiration,the worship from the students and fans. Are the players in this "core" group just happy for the experience of playing College basketball; with winning being an after thought.
Win or Lose, these guys are treated like GOD's when they are out and about on Franklin Street or on campus. For the ones living around here, you see it if you spot one of the players; people rush over to them to speak with them, get autographs, etc. This happens win or lose.
I believe every player wants to win deep down, I really do. However, this group doesn't seem to want to put in the HARD WORK that's required to make this happen night in and night out. If anyone on this board sees something different please enlighten me. The 4 games against Tennessee, Kentucky, Notre Dame and Miami show me something totally different.
