Theo had surgery on October 26. We were advised that he would be out 8-12 weeks. We've had some reports that his recovery is a bit ahead of schedule, but Roy recently said to expect his return to be closer to the 12 week mark.
Eight weeks would have been last week. Twelve weeks hits Jan 18 ish.
I assume his first appearance will be brief, but who knows?
If I'm Roy I probably want it to be against an easy foe and preferably on our home court. Easy so Theo doesn't have to push too hard. At home so he can bask in the cheers of a friendly and appreciative crowd.
But that probably won't happen. The easiest home games this year aren't really that easy (easy wins like BC and Ga Tech are on the road). NC State is still getting its act together, so might be easy, but that game is probably too early for Theo to make an appearance.
My own guess (total guess) is @ Boston College. Not a house full of cheers, but an easy outing where, if he is rusty, it won't matter. He won't have to be concerned about pleasing the crowd. Then he will have had a taste of game experience when he returns to a robust welcome against Va Tech in the Dean Dome.
My second choice would be at home against Syracuse a week earlier. Friendly crowd and Syracuse isn't looking as good as expected (yet).
