POLL: You've left home for the day...

I made a lifestyle choice several years ago to never own a cell phone.

Can't live without the damn thing. I definitely would turn around and go get it.

Okay can we get an AMA going for prlyles?? This man (forgive me for assuming) seems like he leads a pretty cool life. If I'm remembering correctly, he's never been in a Wal-Mart, and now we find out he doesn't own a cell phone??

I'm intrigued and must know more.

Awesome!

I think I could manage just fine without one but only if I had never had one. Now that I've had one for 15-20 years, I could never go back to not having one. Maybe when my kids get older I'll feel like I can go off the grid. Kudos to you my archaic friend.

As far as the answers to choose from, I chose the "make a plan to get it later" option. But with that said, there are days when I have forgotten it and I have made a plan but the plan just didnt work out.

You shouldn't be intrigued. I worked for 32 years in the IT dept. of a textile mill. After the mill shut down (after 130 years) I found some property across the street from the mill and opened a PA. Dutch bulk food store. I've had the store for about 14 years. Getting back to cell phones, when they first came out I debated whether the benefit of owning one was worth the hassle of keeping something on my person all the time, taking care of it and keeping track of it, I decided it wasn't worth it. And yes you're right, I've never been inside a Wal-Mart. I'm sure that's more than you or anyone else wants to know about me..lol BTW what is an AMA?

AMA stands for "Ask Me Anything." Celebrities, writers, etc., will usually get on websites like Reddit.com and do an AMA where fans can pepper them with questions about anything, and they can choose to answer or not answer anything.

Last year, a few different posters on here did AMA's. They were mostly boring though. No one even asked me any interesting questions

Yeah, I googled it, AMA stands for a ton of different things.

How many times have you sat in a car in a parking lot at Walmart?

Never. My wife will go to Wal-Mart when she can't find what she needs anywhere else.

Is it Walmart in particular or do you also not go to Lowe's Home Depot etc.?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm envisioning that when you need something from a hardware store, you simply go outside, fell a tree, and use the wood to construct whatever you need. This is all done before breakfast.

Am I close?

I think I have discovered prlyles' true identity:

I'm about the most un-handy person you will ever meet but if you work retail the last thing you want to do is go shopping.
