Yep ... I expect the Vegas line will open up with UNC -2.5 or 3 ... but for the contest sake, I have to hedge higher, other wise EVERYONE will pick UNC. We'll see.
I don't have a dog in this fight but I suspect it will be a Pick at best, I'd even guess UVA favored by 1.5 - 2.
It somewhat renders the whole emailing veil moot when disbelief in the spread is shown in the thread haha.

Yes, the contest line is UNC FAVORED by 7.5. That in no way indicates what outcome I expect. I actually think the Heels win by 11 
And regarding the picks, I've received 6 so far and the disparity is very good, which is my only goal when I set the lines.

Keep in mind, UVA has lost 2 of 3 ...Heels come in with 2 strong, double digit conference wins, with one over the team who just beat UVA. The books/bettors will consider that.
Agreed. I just also think they'll take into account that UVA is undefeated at home this year, and UNC has only one road win against a team with a winning conference record - that's Syracuse who is 8-7 in conference (that goes for all road games played this year, not just those against ACC opponents).
I didn't realize the latter fact until I just looked it up. A win at UVA would be huge for this team, both mentally and for the resume.

Vegas (like the contest) wants an even split in the bets. I can promise you, if UVA opens up as a favorite, a TON of public money will be bet on the Heels immediately (including some of mine, ha!)
I'm not sure who I like on the spread that I anticipate it opening at. But I will say if the O/U opens near where you have it for this contest - I'll be pouring money in on it (I won't specify which side yet as to not defeat the purpose of the emailing picks, but I would post it in the Game Thread just before tip or something).

Not until we see the home schedule for pre-ACC play. I'll work with the winner and give them at least two options. I know it will take some planning for many folks.
If I'm not mistaken, the person who won the contest last year had to pass on the tickets as his first choice bc getting to the game was the problem ... scheduling, cost, etc.
Well, if by a miracle I won, I would have to consider doing that. I mean if it's like a sick acc-big ten game... might be worth it. If a UNC-G game well... that Jackson basketball is tight! Haha.

On the LONG shot chance that I were to win and in no way am I thinking I will, but if I were to I would have just one request. The prize, I would like for it to go to someone in more need than I. Someone whose dream is to be at a UNC game but is unable to. Me, I am OK, but it could bring real meaning to someone in more need and I would like to see them get that dream. And I would as well ask that the prize be given to them by you, not me, I just got lucky on a few picks by a half a point at times, you have put the real work in this and I have enjoyed it enough already to have all the prize I need.
