Coach Williams said in the press conference that Carolina was tough yesterday and today. He said other teams call them soft but they have been tough in the tournament. He said Justin Jackson is becoming the player he knew he could be. He said that this is the best all around game they have played but have had some of the worst turnovers in history. He said that they played as well defensively as they have all year but still made some big mistakes on defense. Jackson said Carolina competed at the highest level they have all year. Marcus Paige said that they closed well because they got stops. Carolina made 6 of 7 free throws at the end of the game. Jackson said that they didn't turn the ball over at the end of the game and executing the little things. Carolina closed out the game with no turnovers in the last five possessions. Coach Williams was not very flattering about Brice Johnson's defense. He said his play on Malcolm Brogdon at the end of the game was key. Marcus Paige said that he's not thinking about being tired. He said everyone is tired this time of year. He said they will be hungry. He said you can't worry about being tired that you have to think about what's on the line. Jackson said that they would rest up tonight and that there is no excuse. Coach Williams said that it would be four or five years before the tournament returns to Greensboro. He said that it would be significant to this team to have a chance to win the tournament. He said that he isn't focused on history. He's focused on the team. He was asked about playing Saturday instead of Sunday. He said he is "focused on winning the sucker tomorrow." Paige was asked about Jackson being humble. Williams said, "He has to be humble. He lives with Theo and Joel." Coach Williams was asked about Virginia losing twice in the week and if coaches had figured Virginia out. He said, "No. This league is pretty doggone tough. My teams have taken me to seven Final Four's. One time we won the conference tournament." He said that he had no idea what was wrong with JP Tokoto and if he would be able to play tomorrow.
