Yesterday was great but now it is time to start building up to a new season and in my eye priority one of getting a new assistant coach on board so that recruiting won't be behind the eight ball.

Carolina likes to keep it in the family when possible and Frederick, May and Davis are prime examples and saying that there are some local people who might be considered:
Scott Cherry has done a good job at High Point and has the team playing strong the last couple of years.
Miller at UNCG is coming off the schools best record ever and he would also be a good candidate.
Jerry Stackhouse might be a dark horse for the job but he does bring game experience at both the college and pro level and could give good insights to young people hoping to play at a higher level.
Keith Gatlin is another local coach who had had a ton of experience working with top notch recruits such as Giles and our own Pinson.
My personal choice would be King Rice who knows the x's and o's and also has Brian Reese on his staff.
It is unfortunate that our society today would not accept a all black assistant coach staff not including Frederick but to me King Rice would be the best of the choices that I have listed.
Lebo is still out there as well as another possibility. Who do you like and do you see any other possible candidates to feel the vacate position.

I doubt any of the head coaches you mention would take a demotion and accept an assistant head coach job. I predict that Sean May gets the position as he is already on the staff.

Not gonna happen.

I think Sean ultimately gets it, but Roy really likes Shammond Williams. He may be a dark horse candidate.

With all due respect crazy heel it may read like a racist statement but there still are unfortunately good Ole boys out there who still want to live in the past.
Since apparently you missed the part that I clearly noted my personal choice would be King Rice and I also listed Stack and Gatlin as good possible choices it seems like you completely disregarded the question of who you feel would be a good choice.

Good ole boys,. ....Is your last name Rupp? It doesn't matter what they think. No need to bring race into it. Apparently you missed the last two term president our society voted in.

Sorry, you are being extremely short sighted if you believe that. Let's not pretend that issue is not alive and well, even at a place like our Alma mater. Anyway, I think May moves up.

Just a dumb and ignorant post. I doubt most fans care or would even notice the race of the assistants. Maybe Roy should consider a woman (preferably a HOT one) or maybe a transgender.

That would be fun to watch. He would probably get ejected for trash talking before the end of the first game though.

Every postgame: "Both teams played hard, man.... God bless".
Over/Under on number of games before he got ejected for yelling "Ball don't lie!" at an opposing team's free throw shooter?

Did Sheed graduate? LOVE to see him on the bench even though he would get ejected often. :)

He would be an AMAZING recruiter. Tells it like it is and everyone says he is extremely charismatic.

Unfortunately, he did not ever go back and graduate.

Stackhouse would really love to be UNCs next coach after Roy. If offered the Assistant job, I think he'd take it.

If Brad Frederick slides over, Sean slides down, we still need someone to fill Sean's role.
Roy mentioned Shammond the other day, in passing, but he has no coaching experience (that I am aware of)...
Stack has coaching experience in the NBADL, Sheed does not, but dang could you imagine...
Bobby is sure logical but I think he enjoys his old high school and coaching there...but $ talks, especially to coach at UNC, not a tough choice.
Wes has had some success, not so much with Scott...was Scott more slender than Brandon Robinson? :)

Have to have a degree so I think peeps like Sheed (my fave) and Stack (another great option) might be out. I would bet Big May will move up to the bench. Hadn't heard the Shammond talk, but imagine he and Hubert working with our shooters!

If we did get Shammond on board would that have any effect with Mitchell Robinson thought I remember there being ties to why he committed there
