What's the general FSU fan base attitude toward basketball? My uncle was a huge FSU fan and he was all about college football. He passed away last December. He was my Dad's sister's husband. He never mentioned the basketball team. They lived in Tallahassee for about 12 years.

I'm curious to know how much interest the typical Seminoles fan puts toward the basketball program. The ACC is... well... basketball heavy. It's been 25 years or so since they joined. What's the story?

oops @NoleSoup4U

There are fans, but it's not even close to the level of football. I've gotten more into it over the years, but I don't watch the games religiously or anything.

I'm actually watching the game against UCONN right now. They seem to be doing well on the road, but I have no idea how good UCONN is. They're 7-2, but a lot of the early games in basketball seem to be against bad teams.

What are your FSU fans thoughts on Taggert? Are they willing to be patient and give him time to rebuild the program?

I'm definitely willing to give him time. There's a terrible culture on the football team right now, which I will put squarely on Jimbo. I'm not going to bash Jimbo, because he brought FSU a NC and a Heisman. That said, he left a lot of bad players and a bad culture at FSU.

I've heard a few people say that the "culture" issues you mentioned began with how Jimbo handled Jameis. I'm don't know if there's any truth to it, but it seems like a common opinion.

It's possible, but Jameis was put through the wringer. I think it has more to do with recruiting highly athletic players with a lack of toughness or morality. FSU lost two highly ranked QBs in the last few years because they just didn't have any kind of drive or motivation. There were others in different positions as well. All you have to do is look at the reactions of the teams the last couple of years when it became evident that they just quit. There is a massive lack of mental toughness on this team right now.
