Quick OAD stat

Since OAD started in 2006, only 2 national championship teams have had a OAD on the roster. UK in 2012 and Duke in 2015.

I've seen that statistic before, just not on this site . .

Why do you think that is?

Did it take that long for coaches to get with the new program? If so, we should see more of that (now that everybody sees how it works).

Or is it an inherently risky strategy?

I think it will be interesting if a Duke/UK/KU win it this year. Because then the argument 2 of the last 3 champs had a few OAD's is real.

I think it does nothing to slow down OADs to UK..etc..potential recruits looking at less than one year then paid employment...NCAA title is icing

Let's hope it doesn't happen. Not a fan of the OAD thing myself, but I also think the times have changed and if it's the way to go forward we should adapt to it.

That being said, if Roy can it back to way things used to be pre 2013 I'd be as happy as a clam. A couple top 10ers with solid 3-4 year role players is okay in my book. It's just the top10 we keep missing out on.
