Gabe Stephens is a 4-star cornerback in the class of 2021 who attends Mountain Island Charter in Mt. Holly, NC, and was one of many highly touted North Carolina targets that attended the Tar Heels’ 24-20 victory over South Carolina this past weekend in Charlotte.
Stephens, who was at UNC in Chapel Hill twice in June and twice in July, has also been offered by Penn State, TCU, South Carolina, Auburn, Florida and West Virginia among many others. Schools he’s visited multiple times include Penn State, South Carolina, Virginia Tech, and some other schools he’s visited include Duke and Auburn. He’s been to UNC a minimum of seven times.
THI caught up with Stephens for a quick chat to find out how things went last Saturday:
THI: What did you think of the game? Did you have a good time in Charlotte?
STEPHENS: I had a great time out there.
THI: What was the best thing you liked?
STEPHENS: How all the prospects were there hanging out with each other. I also like the atmosphere from the Carolina fans.
THI: What did you think of the secondary play of the Heels?
STEPHENS: They played pretty good.
Stephens plans on being back at UNC for a game or more this fall, including this weekend with Miami visiting.
