Joking, of course ... Y'all just always seem to land on different sides of the fence .. I enjoy reading
????? Kidding me? Raff is terrific. The big question is why he and Nantz need Grant Hill as the third wheel on their team. He really sounds out of place, almost like a guy listening to the broadcasters from the stands and chiming in now and then.
I tell who I am really impressed with....Chris Webber! He is outstanding,and would have been a much better choice as the third guy in the main team. But I guess he is politically incorrect as opposed to Grant Hill.
Oh yeah, back to Raff....you are nuts gary, Raff should have had this job years ago!

I love how everyone on this board hates all announcers except the UNC radio booth. I find it comical.
Jeeze, people are going after Gary pretty hard for his statement about Raftery. Personally, I'm a fan of Bill. But I have no beef with Gary.
Seem anymore, there is more introspective bashing among Tar Heel fans here than objective conversation.
Oh, Raftery is my least favorite announcer because his shtick is annoying to me. That's absolutely not the reason why I'm going after the OP.
And coolwater, I agree with you that it is comical how much announcer hate is discussed on this board. Raftery is the only one I dislike just because his catchphrases are beyond dumb. But even him, I still listen to and don't mind much. I have more important things to get upset about in my life than announcers on a basketball game
EDITED TO ADD: If you don't understand why gtee and I (and others) are annoyed with the OP, I can't help you. I'm not going to turn it into a thing though, and I'm extricating myself from this thread.

Can't stand Raftery. Every time he goes into straining geezer mode he sounds like my Grandpa Grunt sitting on the can pinching a loaf.

I've always enjoyed Raftery....his excitement for the game doesn't get as annoying to me as Dickie V's does
