So I was that guy and decided to re-watch the game last night. Was fun watching the offense in the 2nd half and it gives me hope everyone is starting to gel. Here are some thoughts and observations.
1. Hood - we know he's an exceptional runner, but he looked really good in pass blocking. He is years ahead with regards to picking up the blitz.
2. Our offense wasn't that bad to start. We moved the ball well, but had some questionable calls stall our drives.
3. Defense was better than the numbers indicated. Yes, we got gashed early, but they also had a favorable spot and repeatedly went for it on 4th. On one drive, they converted to 4th downs to score.
4. Collins is a player. He reminds me a bit of Bruce Carter. Rangy and tackles with good form.
5. I like when Quise loses himself in the game. I've noted this for a while, but he's a gamer. Made some big time throws and even bigger runs.
6. Turner really is a beast and a leader on this team. He will be missed next year.
I think this team could go further than I thought. But I'm not getting too high just yet. I am, however, expecting big things next year. We have a ton of young talent and what seems to be really good coaching all-aroun, finally.
