What do you guys think is a realistic expectation on the point production we get from Marcus tonight?

10, 12, 16, 20+ ?

Obviously just having him on the court is going to help our team, just curious what you guys expect in his first game of the season against a tough opponent.

Go Heels!

10-15 points a few assists 25 mins PT

BTW Gary Williams was on a sports radio show here in DC and really showed NO respect for our guards outside of MP. Says there is a BIG drop off after Paige and he based that on watching the Carolina game at Navy earlier this year

JB and Theo just might surprise him IMO

I don't think that our guards looked that bad against Navy especially when you consider we haven't played Navy. I think Gary was heavy in the sauce when he made that statement. He's a thirsty fellow, you know.

I think he'll be sharper than expected. I know it's not game reps, but he's been practicing. He could have played a week ago if these early season games "meant" something. I think this was his target return date all along.

He meant the actual location of the game, not the team. I listened to the same interview- and while yes Gary does like the sauce, I thought it was a decent interview.

Was he sweating profusely?

Has he watched his own team? They could have easily been a NIT team last year if they hadn't gotten lucky breaks in a lot of games.

I believe MP's biggest impact will be on our bigs. He will open up more space for those guys.

Agree he'll help our bigs, but I think his biggest impact will be on Berry, Britt and Pinson. He'll be much more vocal on defense which will help everyone and he'll help steady the ship when some of the young-er guys jack up ill advised shots.

Not worried about numbers, more interested in seeing how Marcus affects the composure of the team.

Oh yeah, I hope Justin doesn't change anything he's been doing lately.... not even his underwear

I just hope the team doesn't let Marcus try & do it all. Last year I thought the team kind of stood around & wanted Marcus to do his thing.

Which is a huge part of the reason why many of us understand the value in Berry starting at the point and Theo coming off the bench. If Marcus doesn't get to be off the ball with Joel running the show, we fall into that same trap again.

Key, I heard the same interview and he said that Maryland had the better backcourt and they would win the game. He didn't have to many good things to say about UNC. He also said that Dean said a few unacceptable things to the Maryland players when he coached against him. That was a low blow to a great coach who has passed away.

Should have won by 12-15 if we would have hit free throws down the stretch. Our best free throw shooters (Page and Berry) missed free throws. That probably will not happen the rest of the year.

Did anyone else hear Jay Williams poor mouth Marcus during pre-game last night when Seth Greenberg said Marcus will help this team immensely right away? He said Marcus would not help us that much since he was just coming back and wouldn't be as much of a factor because of it. The perfect doochie. I loved watching him eat up that crow at halftime. Made Seth look like a genius.

I either turn the channel or mute the channel when J Williams speaks. Just another dook a hole.

Not to toot my own horn, but this is what I said about Marcus's expectations yesterday!!!
