Texas had several years of locking up #1 classes almost before there Junior Day was over. They still have 4/5 star talent across the board yet they have been racking up losses over the last several years. Based on articles that I read, they brought in a lot of prima donnas who felt they could show up and win. I think Charlie Strong is finally getting through to this team and has disciplined those who aren't on-board.
It takes more than talent to win. It always helps to have guys who love the game. Also I believe some of the guys Texas recruited peaked early and have not gotten better.
South Carolina has had some pretty good classes as well. I'm not sure what is going on there but it was obvious that they were not very good when we played them. We would toast them if we were playing Saturday. I just hope that game was the wake up call for the rest of the season.
I believe we have a solid mixture of playmakers and guys who love the game. Sprinkle in some more 4/5 stars...hopefully of the Elijah Hood variety. Honestly I don't think a Keion Joyner would hurt this team. We have "risk"-ed scholly's on two-star athletes that have become stars or not panned out. I think we have room for a couple of talented guys who need mentoring and a strong peer network. JMHO
