The old GE reefer was 45 years old and it finally decided to quit. My mother bought that sucka back when I was just 17 yrs. old . . never a repair or service call needed.

They don't make 'em like they used to for certain.

I had one of those that I bought second hand off Craig's List- paid $50 for it and it lasted about a year in the garage. Was barely running when it conked out, but Duke Power came and picked it up and gave me $75.

It was the same fridge that was at my grandmothers house- side by side- metallic pea green.

For old times' sake, Billy, you could put her on the back porch and crack the door and she'd keep temperature at least until March. Then again, you and the wife can just go and purchase a new one.

In December my 30 year old Maytag washer bit the dust.
Hope my new one (not a Maytag) lasts at least 1/2 as long.

They just don't make them like they used to. RIP BillyL's GE fridge.

My in-laws bought a natural gas powered freezer back in the 40's and it was never turned off from the time they bought it until the children sold it with the house in 2003.
