We're 1/3rd of the way through the season and conference play starts on Wednesday. How do you see this team? What do you think they can accomplish? Let's see some predictions.

I see this team losing 3 (maybe 4) ACC games. I think our first loss could come next week in Tallahassee. FSU always seems to have our number when they clearly shouldn't. We've taken way better teams down there and left with a loss. It's strange. Record: 13-3.

On Feb 1, we go to the YUM center. I'm pegging this as a loss. Louisville is a good team (not great and not better than us) and they're capable of beating us in their gym. Record: 18-4.

Starting on Feb 24, we play 3 out of 4 on the road and against stiff competition. On the 24th, we travel to moo. 3 days later, we travel to Charlottesville. Then 2 days later, we play a home game against Syracuse before our March 5th date at duke. I'm predicting 3 - possibly 4 - ACC losses. This 4 game stretch will determine that. I could see us losing at moo because they'll probably build their season around beating us in that game. But if we get through that, I think we only lose at UVa. I know, I know,...playing in Cameron is always tough. But we're significantly better than duke this year and if they don't have Jefferson back by then, we could roll them. So I'm calling a duke sweep and saying we get it done at CIS. Record: 26-5 (15-3) - unless we brainfart in Raleigh and then 25-6 (14-4).

I think that's good enough to win the ACC regular season. I'm a bit scared by the fact we only play UVa once and it's at their house. That could determine who wins the reg season and who gets the #1 seed in the ACC tournament. But for the purposes of this thread, I'll say we finish one game ahead of UVa and win the reg season and the #1 seed. But sadly, I still don't think we win the ACC tournament. It's just doesn't ever seem to be a priority to Roy and the team. I think we lose in the finals giving us a record of 28-6 going into the NCAA tournament. I think that's good enough for a 1 seed (hopefully in the East).

And then, in the NCAA tournament, anything less than a Final Four run is a disappointment. I'm not ready to call a National title. But I'm predicting a FF.

Thoughts?

Boy if we could get through the ACC with a 14-4 record this fan would be thrilled ...we have the team to do that and even better if they play their A game night in night out ..I do LOVE the prediction of sweeping DOOK as I think we are head and shoulders above them as well ..Ingram will get his but Brice Kennedy and Isaiah will have a field day against Plumlee and Jeter

IMO we are the best team in the ACC top to bottom and when we play our game I think we beat next best by double digits. I say we drop a couple ACC games, Miami is a load, maybe UVa, duke isn't duke but they will find a way to at least make things a nail biter. But I think we drop a tuff one to Miami and then someone shocks us that shouldn't that is not a top 4 ACC team.

14-4 sounds about right to me as well. I would love to see us get the regular season and tourney title but will take regular season crown and a final four anyday, over an ACCT.

I dont think Lville beats us if we play close to our capacity, even in yum. The Miami game is in CH, but they are well coached and can stroke the 3. I see us losing 2 or 3. @ Duke will be tough, and Virginia might take 1 also. If we play inspired defense like the 09 team did, we wont drop more than 2 conference games imo.

I think the key game is the Florida State game (the Heels should win the first 2 ACC games at home). The reason being that if the Heels lose that game they drop out the Top 10. Win the Florida State game and the Heels will go on a roll. Florida State has one of the best one-on-one players in the country in Mayes. Somehow, someway the Heels need to limit him to under 20 points an get outof there with a close victory...lets say 84-81. As it stands right now, both Maryalnd and Virginia are ahead of the Heels for the #1 seed in the East. I think the Heels chances of making it to the Final Four drop considerably if they don't get the #1 seed in the East. Not only do they need to win the ACC regular season but they need to make it to the ACC title game. I will go with 2-3 ACC losses, with the Florida State game being a must win to move towards the #1 seed in the East.

Gonna go with 2 losses hoping the Heels can win the first 2 ACC road games with them going into the Virgina game at 25-2 and basically having the # 1 seed locked up in the East. They lose at Virginia and Duke and win the ACC tournament. Yes, I'm optimistic!!

Gawd, I hate these... and I ain't jinxin' nothin', but ok... I'll bite:
With the disclaimer, that if... I repeat IF... three guys stay pretty healthy (JB. MP, BJ) ---- then 2 ACC losses (including of course one we shoudln't), ACC tourney title?, FF, and............. if the ball bounces right and the zebras behave............... well, you know....
