RHI-UNC moved to South Carolina

CHAPEL HILL --- Winter weather has caused the relocation of North Carolina's weekend series against Rhode Island, and the two teams will now play at Francis Marion University in Florence, South Carolina. The series will begin with a doubleheader Friday at 11 a.m., with the final game set for 7 p.m. Saturday.

This weekend's change makes it eight consecutive home games affected by snow, ice and extreme temperatures. Last weekend's series with UCLA was moved to Orlando and midweek games against St. John's and Winthrop were canceled and postponed.

Good grief. I feel bad for the players. Looks like a really nice play to play/watch a game, though. Check out some of the photos of Sparrow Stadium from their website.

Posted this on Tar Heel Blitz but I'll post it here. Very cool that they are playing at Francis Marion. My good buddy who pitched in college was recruited very hard by Francis Marion, but opted to go elsewhere because of finances/scholarship reasons.
