The #1 question is whether EC can possibly live up to the hype.
Assuming he's very good, the #2 question might be whether having a real, pass-first PG will help or hurt RJ. Most expect it to help, and maybe a lot. But it could go the other way.
We expect to have a more stable, reliable crew of shooters this season. And we expect to have a PG who can get them the ball.
In some video I watched there was an expectation that RJ could shoot 40% from deep. Partly because he was pretty close to that last season (except at the very beginning and when his fingers were taped). Partly because he should seldom be stuck with the ball in his hands having to take desperation shots.
I think that's quite plausible.
The flip side is that RJ might take a lot fewer shots. Mainly because other guys will be taking more shots. Partly because with better shooting talent and better passing, we are bound to improve on our shooting percentages.
From a team standpoint, it may not matter if RJ shoots less - if it's because other people are shooting better.
Just one of the many things I look forward to seeing emerge starting in about 2 months.
