How many do I get to vote in? Let’s call it 5. With my 5, I’ll take:

Rage
Def Leppard
The Cure
Radiohead
Ladies Love Cool James

Stevie Nicks is in 1st place

The MOST Rock n Roll Band in the list is in last place!

Y'all are hung up on the "Rock 'n' Roll" part. Seems like a lot of holdovers from last year's list.

Everybody on here has a good argument for inclusion, but Stevie Nicks? Meh. She had an unremarkable solo career that was entirely propelled by her membership in FM. She should get in with them but not as a solo artist.

She got in with Fleetwood Mac already. That's why I didn't vote for her.

Way too many people getting voted-in twice for the very reason you mention. That's not to be extremely critical of their solo careers at all. But, as you said, without their success as a member of a band that was famous, you'd probably never have heard of them. That includes The Beatles!

If I'm going five, I'd say these (no particular order)

Def Leppard
The Cure
Rage Against The Machine
LL Cool J
Radiohead

Left Stevie out for reasons mentioned; not that I think her solo stuff is bad but I prefer her with Fleetwood Mac, and I'm not big on double inclusion. Janet wouldn't be bad to get in but not above the others listed.

Hello, it's me
I've thought about us for a long, long time
Maybe I think too much but something's wrong
There's something here that doesn't last too long
Maybe I shouldn't think of you as mine
Seeing you, or seeing anything as much as I do you
I take for granted that you're always there
I take for granted that you just don't care
Sometimes I can't help seeing all the way through
It's important to me
That you know you are free
'Cause I never want to make you change for me

Yeah I didn't realize that was separate from Fleetwood Mac. OOTB vote retracted and applied to Soundgarden nomination.

I was with you until the end of this poast. Hard to say how much membership in a successful group does or doesn't influence solo careers. I've repeatedly mentioned my love of Genesis on this board. I think Peter Gabriel and Phil Collins* sh/would both have made the HOF based on their solo work, which was arguably more commercially successful than their work with Genesis. Just one example...it differs depending on who we're talking about of course.

If you made me choose I'd probably have the same list but insert Janet (giggity) in place of LL Cool J. Lot of tough calls if you limit it to 5, though.

I mean, sure, but there's something weird about her face. It's too wide or something and then I'm afraid to look below her neck for fear she's a big fatty but then I do look down and I'm like whoa everything is gonna be okay.
This girl??? Is her face too wide?

Agreed. I think younger generations may only know a couple of his big hits (Hello It's Me, I Saw the Light) but Todd has written some great tunes over the years, produced some top albums, and is a extremely versatile musician. And I'm sure you'll agree that he's a pretty damn good rock guitarist (when he wants to be). He tends to do whatever he wants album-wise so you never know what you're gonna get from him.

Rundgren even kept Clapton's "Fool" SG alive!

Excellent gif usage. Have to admit, he would've been better off dying young. This lip sync battle stuff has really tarnished his legacy IMO. It's an awful excuse for entertainment.

I've never seen that show but I know what you're talking about. And you could heckle his acting career too. But I'll always be a fan. Bigger and Deffer and Mama Said Knock You Out were staples of my childhood. And Walking With A Panther (of which that gif is from the single Going Back To Cali) is underrated.

The RnR HOF has obviously decided that it will honor acts in all genres. So with that in mind, I think LL is a stone cold lock. He's a pillar of the creation of rap.

Yes, that girl. Look at her face compared to Rihanna. It looks like she has a cantaloupe for a head. If you just showed me this picture and asked me how much she weighed, I would guess at least 200 lbs. Her body doesn't match her head and it will never not freak me out.

I'll give you credit for trying to convey the visual comparison.
