Anyone ever gone through one? Looking so forward to having this procedure done on Monday, as if Monday's didn't suck enough.

I have not had one but my dad did and he says it is a waste of money unless you have super strong bone structure in your jaw, that it will only last a year or two.

If they numb you up well, you'll be fine. Enjoy the drugs! haha

I've had a couple, they're not terrible to endure . . my dentist broke it up into 2 visits, so I didn't have to sit in a chair for 2 and a half hours I suspect, which I appreciated.

I've had one. It wasn't nearly as bad as people make it out to be. It's not fun. But it's not the worst either.

Thats good to know. I've known this day was coming for a long time. I've had crowns on all of my molars since high school and knew eventually they would deteriorate. Dentist said there's nothing I could really do to prevent it. Oh well.

I know I'll have to go through them one day. I have very, very weak tooth enamel (genetics) and as a result, I routinely get 1-3 cavities every time I visit the dentist. It sucks. I should just get veneers.

Well, going today to find out for sure if it's come to that. I have eight crowns (all of my molars) from high school. The last time one of them popped off and had to be fixed, I guess they didn't do it properly and left a slight "gap" between the root and the crown, and that was apparently the downfall. The dentist I have now said there's literally nothing I could have done to stop this. Could have flossed and brushed continuously but there's no way I'd have been able to clean inside that gap they left.

Slightly annoying

So what was the verdict?

Jury is still out. I've seen three different dentists and gotten three different opinions. So, the verdict right now is just to monitor it.
