A van down by the river
In his time at UNC, Roy is 19-1 (95%) in the first game of the weekend (Thursday/Friday, or Saturday for the Final Four) during the NCAA Tournament. The only loss was the 2008 Final Four game against Kansas.

He was 21-6 (78%) in the first game of the weekend at Kansas. Four of those losses came in the Sweet 16, while the other two came in the Final Four.

So overall he's 40-7 (85%) in the first game of the weekend during the tourney. Those numbers are obviouly helped by the fact he's never lost an opening game (24-0). Even excluding those, he's still 16-7 (70%) in first games of the weekend.

This is all a long-winded way of saying that given a week to scout tournament opponents, Roy and his staff do an excellent job preparing his teams. You have to like our chances against Wisconsin based on that history.

Go Heels!

This game scares me because Wisconsin's strengths also happen to be our weaknesses. But of course, the flip of that is true as well.

Gonna come down to who can dictate pace for the majority of the game.

In dictating pace of game, a slow tempo team will always win the battle of whose style is played. It's much easier to slow tempo than it is to speed it up. One thing that will help will be Wisconsin missing shots. If they're missing shots, we should be able to get out on the break.

We will need to have JP Tokoto playing great ball on both ends of the floor. He's has a really tough match up in Dekker (if that's who we choose to put on him) but on the flip side, no way Dekker can manage JP in the open floor.

Have to have another big game from Paige. Brice will have to move his feet on defense and we cannot afford for him to get into foul trouble. But he's going to have to guard on the perimeter some.

Hopefully Jackson, Britt and Berry can make a few threes.

JP is from the state of Wisconsin, so hopefully that gives him some extra fire against the Badgers

Speaking of which, anyone know if Wisconsin recruited him?

Wisky recruited him and offered.

Similar to the UVA game in the ACCT, IMO. If we can get out to a decent lead early, hopefully we take the Badgers out of their comfort zone and force them to play at a quicker pace then they would like.

And I agree re: Frank the Tank - don't double him, or else he kicks it out to the 3 pt line. Let him get his, but let's not get killed by the deep ball.

Yeah, Billy is right. When we played Wisconsin a few years ago at home in the Big Ten Challenge, a couple of Wisconsin fans were sitting near us and they said they really wanted him badly. I think he had just committed to us, but I may have the timing wrong on that. Anyway, they said he was going to be a good one, FWIW.

and don't leave your guy on the 3-line - they can and will kill us if we give them wide open 3's.

Don't double Kaminsky? Yeah, right. You know Roy has an obsession with doubling the post.

*sigh*
