Just wondering what people have thought of Roy's lineup at the end of the 1H the last two games.

Against Miami, we led 32-20.... And had like Seventh, Britt and Robinson on the floor... 34-29 halftime lead.

Against Duke, 48-37 lead... Berry goes off the floor... 49-42 half time lead.

Why does Roy do that? It's such an odd time to go to a backcourt with 0 offensive talent.

He's done that quite a bit this year and it's been overlooked. I texted my buddy at half Time and said same thing. What should have been a 13-15 or game at hand was cut to 7 solely because of lineup. Brandon Robinson alone gave Dook 4 points To end half. He was in over his head in this game.

Thought the same thing .. he does stuff like that all the time and it makes 0 sense to me. Just because your a HOF coach don't mean you can't do stupid chit .. jmho

End of half coaching is not a strength. Wayne ellingtons last second shot at Clemson is one of the few times I can remember Roy drawing up a end of half/game play that actually worked. Too often we wind up with the wrong guy with his hands on the ball and the shot clock counting down.

It happened tonight primarily bc of fouls. Yesterday against Miami, I think he was just getting the guys some rest and it backfired. It definitely hurt us tonight, a bit of momentum.

And yes, the lights were WAY too bright for Robinson.

This

I think Roy was thinking big picture than in the moment. He was resting starters for the 2nd when he should have been going for the knock out. JB got #4 3 minutes into 2nd and it was all down hill from there.

It's been clear that Brandon Robinson and 7th shouldn't be sniffing the court this year. Fk experience. They are costing UNC big points. Rather have Stillman in the game this year.

7-8 Dookies beat UNC"s 19-player rotation after playing games back to back. Why does Roy think 18-20 year old kids can't run for 25-30 minutes a game?

Is he still on the team? It seems like Roy forgets he exists sometimes. Makes me wonder if there is something going on in practice that we don't know about

Stillman is solid. He's a rock unlike Britt and Seventh who you expect to turn it over or force an awful shot. Stillman doesn't look to shoot much but he isn't going to cost you stupid points either. I mean he did have to start for us in the Elite Eight (?) and played pretty decent.

Seventh Woods is a turnover waiting to happen.
IMO more importantly.... Seventh, Robinson and Britt cannot shoot. So our natural interior advantage gets neutralized because the opponent doesn't need to guard our guards.

I said this a while ago, but the less we play Britt the better. He can't run this team and can't play the 2. THat's why the Kenny Williams injury was big. That's minutes that Britt will take over.

I don't know the plus minus stats, but it seems like our team just melts when Britt is on the floor.

And just as an aside .. I bet potential recruits recognize the same things we do too.

I agree, but can you imagine Stillman guarding Allen or Kennard? That would be an epic disaster. Woods can't defend them either, but K would use his NBA/olympic offense to exploit Stillman every time down the floor!

Seventh and Britt get abused too. Stillman is better than people give him credit for. He deserves some run if people like Robinson, Seventh and Britt are going to touch the floor.

Like I said, I don't understand why Roy thinks these young dudes can't play 25-30 mins a game. We don't need to play 15 players!
