Rusty LaRue's son killed in car accident

Riley LaRue, the oldest son of former Wake Forest basketball and football player Rusty LaRue, has died.

A number of media outlets reported Saturday that Riley LaRue died in a car crash. A Wake Forest football assistant learned the news after the Deacons beat Army on Saturday.

Riley LaRue was a graduate of East Forsyth High School, which tweeted "Thoughts and prayers with the LaRue family!"

West Forsyth High School, where Rusty LaRue was recently named head basketball coach, tweeted: "All Titans pleas keep the LaRue family in your thoughts and prayers."

Riley LaRue was listed on the basketball roster at Cape Fear Community College in Wilmington.

My thoughts and prayers are out for the Larue family.

I can think of no other terrible tragedy that reaches the level of losing a son or daughter, especially one who had just begun to live their life.
