Sam Howell will be Heisman winner one day

Winning the Heisman has just as much to do with team performance as it does individual performance. We would need to win at least 10 games and most likely a conference championship for him to win it.

I think that by his Junior year, that's a possibility. And, Colt McCoy can attest to Brown's leadership.

I think Sam will break every passing record at UNC. And could even be a Heisman candidate one day. But also still has some things to work on. He occasionally will lock in on one receiver instead of making his reads, which is pretty typical for a young QB at this level. That's why you see the head scratching picks where he throws the ball right at a defender. He's not seeing the defender because he's just focused on the receiver, waiting for them to make their break.

He's also going to have to work on taking less hits when he runs the ball. His creativity is one of his strengths, and he's obviously a competitor that wants to fight for every yard, but that doesn't fly for a QB at this level. It looks like he's already been coached up on that since he's been doing a better job of getting down the past few weeks. But we need him healthy for the next three and a half years.

Yes, we would. Especially as long a Lawrence is around at Clemson and they're winning at such a high level.

Being a Heisman trophy candidate would be huge.
It would be another shot in the arm for recruiting.

I agree on all counts.

He's a good freshman quarterback. One of the five best freshman quarterbacks this year. Unlikely that he wins the Heisman. Hope that he doesn't transfer to Oklahoma. That would give him a 50% chance. He has a chance to be first team all ACC

What would Howell's stats be, and what might our record be, if Dyami and Dazz did not lead the ACC in dropped passes?

We have talent at WR, but we lack consistency at WR, and we lack fundamentals at WR.

sam howell will lead the heels to a coastal div championship. the only question is when. this is a more immediate and more important goal than winning a heisman.

That may be true but it's still fun to think/talk about the possibility of him being a Heisman candidate one day.
