Secret scrimmage

Didn't realize Tubby was in his first year at Memphis as Pastner starts his first year at GT. Interesting. Glad our scrimmage is against somebody other than Vandy for a change.
Yeah, and since Roy's other buddy went to Pitt that wouldn't be kosher.

We won by 11. Joel Berry dominated Memphis guards and was the best player on the court... Our bigs struggled but had some decent moments througout the game against memphis strong front line. Memphis was missing two key players including their best player who is an AA candidate all the first half due to a funeral. Low scoring game, appeared the defenses are ahead of the offenses at this point. Thats all I got right now if I find out more I will share.

Also heard Kenny Williams hit 4 3s but I am doubting that is accurate.

Why would you doubt that?

Also, heard we won by 20+

That is the premi information which someone linked accidentally on another forum.

Aka... Nah, everything I posted in the first paragraph is legit. The Kenny Williams part isn't verified.

...except I'm not so sure all that is correct.

It's my assumption that Butterbutt posting rights has been suspended for a few days. This is my assumption only and I could be wrong. Doubt you will see him posting for a few days. You learn the hard way sometimes.

He was chastised pretty hard for leaking the info.

Awesome news! I can't wait to see us run peeps out of the gym. I think we have the outside shooting to finally complement our strong inside this year! We have long athletes that play hard , play fast, and enjoy each other. We have a deep team with many interchangeable parts too. This is the formula that Roy seems to get the most out of and I expect big things to come!

Gary, you should consider the 7 day FREE premium subscription. :)

Well... no offense to AJ, but I heard via a player it was a much bigger margin... Jes' sayin'...

Where exactly do you think AJ got his info from, the tooth fairy? I'm sure it was either a coach or someone who was allowed in to watch.

Sorry but I'm gonna roll with the guy who is the professional here.

From what he is saying on TOS, where he also took that info to, he has been shut down for a few days and he considers those that did shut him down here to be on a power trip. Just reportin the news...LOL

Dude?
"Secret scrimmages" are secret for two reasons. Unlike an exhibition where you take on a cupcake in public (or play over your head when you're the cupcake), the scrimmage is a chance to check some things out against credible competition that doesn't know all your plays. And as a courtesy, it's kept mostly secret so 1) the coaches won't have to deal with the media "analyzing" it or 2) disseminate info to upcoming opponents.

I wasn't told exactly what all they did in Memphis --- I just got a quick report on how it went --- but these things are often played in segments with pauses for situations, etc. And I can tell ya, coaches (especially the "winner") sandbag about the "score" of these things, again as a courtesy. And in this day and age players are generally asked to keep the details on the down-low (in fact, I believe there were a couple of social media deletions yesterday --- again, courtesy).

Ultimately, it's just a scrimmage, and so it's no big deal either way in the scheme of things, but there is word out there --- and it matches what I was told --- that the actual competition was not quite as close as it's being made out, which frankly shouldn't be surprising, and sure as hell doesn't have anything to do with who is or is not a "professional". I try to provide some info from other sources (y'know since it's a Carolina basketball board and all) and here we go with this whole "premium" thing again. Sheesh.
