As per usual, it won't be an actual game. They will do all types of wonky stuff like a stretch where one team only plays zone defense, or a stretch with only backup players. If it's like last year, no intel will ever make it onto the messageboards.

FAU is a guard heavy team that runs a lot. So this will be a very unique challenge. Not sure we will play a team like them at any point during the regular season.

Good choice. Should give us a great idea of our team's ability to work together and whether we play fast and can shoot!

I'll be flying a couple of stealth drones during the scrimmage, so we'll have video the following day.

Kidding aside, most of us understand that this isn't a true game, but that doesn't mean there can't be plenty of fun highlights.

I'm excited that Hubs is taking the first step in writing a legacy that fits in our long line of great coaches who are also great people!

Hard to separate jokes from hate these days! I will attempt to be more perceptive!

I do think this is a brilliant choice for testing our newly formed team. Adversity will force them closer and ensure they realize how hard winning is at this level! OR it will reveal how much work they need to do to realize their potential!

I try not to do hate. Even on the political board, but especially not on the basketball board. Of course I have been known to fall into that trap in the past. Not so much any more, but still human the last time I looked, so it can happen.

But this conversation reveals something relevant to the decline in civil conversations in recent years. In the past, people were more likely to look for the reasonable intent or try to figure out what someone meant. Maybe even ask what someone meant. What a concept!

These days, people seem to assume the worst and go in attack mode without even asking for clarification.

How do we fix that?

I agree that peeps either don't have the capability, the patience, or the experience to engage in civil discourse anymore! In many cases we treat disagreement as an attack these days. The most worrisome aspect of this phenomenon is our children are even worse at this than we are! It is frightening to think about how we set our children up for failure by demonstrating intolerance, unnecessary aggression, and the inability to respect others' opinions! I try not to attack (except SDung), even when I am sure peeps have bad intentions until they attack my beloved team, coaches, or players. Instead, I try to offer the opposing point and to show that the evidence can support more than one conclusion! One of my first rules is to Seek to understand before trying to be understood, followed by the idea that in life one can win without someone else losing! Hence, my relentless optimism about my Heels! (BTW: I would say use the emojis for clarity, but I am so out of touch I don't know what many of them mean!)

I can't wait to overreact to the secret scrimmage! To me it will prove we are Natty bound with a soon-to-be HOF coach while to others it will prove we are even worse than last year, and Hubs needs to go!

Good Times! (1 month to go)
