Got to get this off my chest, it is hard enough for these kids to play in the final 4, the stakes are just so high. The venue in which the game is played SHOULD NOT HAVE TO BE AN EXTRA FACTOR that these kids need to over come!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I really felt this venue penalized the teams more jump shooting dependant and yeah, Nova did shoot well but the arena clearly effected those Oky players shooting and I think the nation, college basketball as a whole, and for sure those fans deserved to see a great game where the venue would have been a non-factor. While Nova played well and would likely have won that game no matter where it was played, I don't think it right that the arena it was played became a factor.

For the ability to sell more Final 4 tickets at crazy blown up prices, in order to make it such a spectacle they messed up what by all rights should have been a very exciting game and turned it in to a snooze fest. I had nova winning that game by double digits because I felt they were the better over all team but I think fans across the country deserved a game where the arena it was played in would not have been a factor.

And yeah, I fully realize that if anything the arena benefits the team that pounds the ball inside for higher % shots and hurts the jump shooting team and that is in our favor more than any other final 4 team IMO. But that does not make it right and don't forget, our jump shooting was way off from what it has been in this tourney as well.

The ONLY thing I like about the production of this final 4 is the team stream deal for the final 4 teams, that is way cool but the venue IMO is a MAJOR FAIL and IMO SHAMEFUL...

Can't disagree, but you have to remember that March Madness is the NCAA's cash cow. Unlike football, the revenue from this tourney goes mostly to them and yep, the greed shows itself in arena (cough, cough, stadium, cough) selection.

I do agree that the NCAA is all about the CASH. However, as much as I heard about the "venue" and its effect on the shooters, it sure did not seem to bother Nova at all.

I'm really not a fan of the stadium setting. The fans are way back off the court and it sounds hollow in there. Definitely doesn't sound like there are 70K+ people watching. Plus, the view for those in attendance seem terrible. Also, not a fan of the elevated court. Maybe that's nitpicky but I just don't like it.

As it went on, IMO, I really felt like OU gave up a littlle bit, it kinda became a shooting drill for nova more so that a team having to work and the shot be well defended. I mean OU defenders were joggin around screens, allowing wide open straight on looks for squared up rythm shooters. Joel Berry for example just blew everyone away with making what, 252 treys without missing 2 in a row? These guys will hit huge % of treys when they only get token defensive effort against the shot.

I think it may end up being fools gold because if they hit them against us it will not be because we casually jog around screens and give up anything outside of token defense. Just my opinion guys, just my opinion...

All are good points. And who ever likes that camera view shot from the players shoe tops. I hate it. Why do they do that even if it's just for a few seconds. To show what the game would look like if you were lying on the court?

will watch the game again today but during the game i felt like MP misses were not that contested he just front rimmed them - Berry on the other hand struggled - but again that is off first impression of the game - watching it again may show a different perspective

either way i agree the Heels will defend tougher and Nova will need to handle the inside game which they have not seen yet

I do expect Nova to double the post so the bigs better be ready

I was there in 09 in Detroit and its honestly the last time I'll probably ever go to a final four in a football stadium. We had great half-court, lower level seats and we were still incredibly far away from the court. If you dont fork over a couple grand for each ticket you're basically just watching the game on the big screen because youre so far away. I know for a lot of people just being "there" and the experience is what matters but if im paying $1,500 at the door just to get in id at least wanna be able to actually see the game without using binoculars.

Was watching an interview with Emmert this week where he said March Madness brings in 90% of the NCAA revenue for the entire year and helps run all other sports for Div 1, 2 and 3... After hearing that the Final 4 will never be in anything other then a football stadium ever again IMO!!!!!

As one of the posters said, the distance between even traditionally good seat locations and the court makes me think I'd rather use the money I would spend on scalping Dook vs UNC at the DES and ACC tournament.

I was also at the the title game at Ford Field in 2009. I had seats behind one of the baskets. It was fun watching them blow out MSU, but the view wasn't that great. The game just doesn't like right at a football stadium, either live or on TV. I doubt it changes though.

Something is wrong with the floor. So many players just flat out slid and fell. I feel like its 'sticker-gate' again.

"D"

I really don't get anything you're talking about.

Every team had to play the games in front of them and had to play in the venues they were chosen to.

You know I'm a huge UK fan but we lost. Indiana had to play in the same atmosphere as us, but they won. I'm not going to give a excuse because we lost. Indiana won, PERIOD!!!

UNC and Villanova beat the teams they needed to beat. The other teams standing in both teams way played in the same venue. Same circumstance.

I don't get what you're trying to say.
