Just read where he enrolled on the 14th. Can anyone explain why this kid got no love from any schools? I mean dang hes 6 6 and has skills, and pedigree to boot. Any inside news, attitude, work ethic???

I believe he was a late bloomer. But hey surely is living out his greatest dream of being a Tar Heel.

It absolutely is not attitude, I think it is more a confidence thing, I don't know that he realizes how good he could be. You get some of these kids from former great players and if they don't immediately live up to the family name they can lose confidence and I am guessing that could be a factor with him. But this is a very good kid and his dream is to play for Roy, he has been counting the days until he enrolled at UNC and becomes a Roy Williams coached player.

This is the attitude I love to see kids come in with, this kid just wants to become the best player he can become. Heck, he is excited to be able to work Roy's camp because he attended Roy's camp from a very early age on. I don't know how great a basketbal player this kid can become thou he does have a lot of potential but this kid has his head on straight and he will become successful in life even if that life does not include the NBA.

His father and uncle were legends in their state. It can be awfully tough growing up in that kind of shadow. JUst ask MJ's son, Sampson's son, Ewing's son, etc... He has the genes and the physical attributes, as well as a great attitude. In time, he'll be an integral part of the equation.

"When Rush first started going to North Carolina’s summer camps, they intentionally put him with older kids to see how he’d hold up. Rush came to basketball around seventh or eighth grade, so his skills are still refining, and there is enough talent in that long and naturally athletic body to imagine him being a contributor before too long.

James Michael McAdoo, then a rising star at North Carolina, was the referee on Rush’s court. McAdoo thought Rush was a fine player but was more impressed with how he interacted with the other kids. Then, when the games were over and virtually everyone headed back to their dorms, Rush stayed by himself to pick up all the used water cups on the floor.'

He sounds a lot like Marcus Paige to me. It is so refreshing in this day and time to see someone so focused on where he wants to be and to be so humble. It takes so much fortitude for someone to sit on the bench when he could be playing more elsewhere. He sounds like someone who definitely has the interest of the team ahead of himself. I hope this man realizes all his dreams at UNC and sees that there is so much more to this world than just the sport of basketball. Welcome to the Hill young man!

Well there it is, the answer to the question of this thread, he came to the game late in the 8th grade, that explains it right there. I am actually THRILLED to be able to know that, this kid has to raw talent really surprised he came to the game so late considering his family heritage in the sport. I would really LOVE to see this kid red shirt and learn a season before eating up his eligibility, we may have an absolute gem in this kid!
