SI - early Heisman candidates

I'd take Sam over Newman any day. He's only getting the nod because its Georgia and the SEC , so of course they are better in the media's minde.
Yep, one thing all those players have in common is they play on teams that are or were big names in football. That's basically why Sam will never win the Heisman. He can get an invite possibly, but with our history, or lack thereof, we would have to win the conference and win at least 10 games.

Let's say we win coastal next year but lose to Clemson and win our bowl game, and we finish 10-4. It stands to reason that Sam has a good year. So for his junior year - goldilocks is gone, and maybe - Carolina has a decent chance to win ACC. I know that's a lot of what ifs, but Sam would have to get consideration then, dont ya think?

It is getting more rare for somebody that's not on one of the big dogs to win it but Lamar won a few years ago, so we can hope.
