The ACC gets several mentions, including this: "
The ACC Coastal will be the best coaching division in college football

No conference upgraded its coaching profile more than the ACC this off-season, and the majority of those new hires take over teams in the Coastal Division. Justin Fuente (Virginia Tech), Mark Richt (Miami) and Bronco Mendenhall (Virginia) joined a crop of proven coaches in David Cutcliffe (Duke), Larry Fedora (North Carolina) and Pat Narduzzi (Pittsburgh). The Coastal has been the weaker side of the ACC for a couple of seasons, but it will prove itself anew with revamped staffs next year."

It did say "proven" coaches. What has the "omission" proved?

Ha! That is too funny. Nice catch on the omission!
I didn't catch it on 1st read. Then it hit me the two lists added up to just 6. I did laugh at PJ being omitted.

The pre game show is on ESPN for the Potato Bowl. The guys said the ACC Coastal now may have the best set of coaches in football. And again PJ was not named.

By the way, they think Fuente will have the most and quickest success of the 3 new Coastal coaches.

The ACC has always lacked a large stable of great coaches. Not anymore. Winning the Coastal will be much more difficult than the Clemson/FSU division. The bar has been raised for Fedora with these hi rings and his new contract. With the scandal behind us, our recruiting will improve, though it has been pretty darn good in spite of it.

You can manipulate stats to substantiate any argument. The major point is that Clemson and FSU were 4-1 against the Coastal with the one loss being that WTF fiasco in Atlanta.

What stat was manipulated? I'm not dogging the Atlantic, clearly the top of the conference is in that division, just the notion that the coastal is soooo weak compared to the Atlantic when the head to head didn't bare that out...Anyways Merry Christmas to you and yours!

I was just thinking about the poor Atlantic....what were they 4-8 or something against the "inferior Coastal?"

Please see your quote above. You refer to the "poor Atlantic" and their "4-8" record against the Coastal. The Atlantic is all about Clemson and FSU. Coastal teams can beat Syracuse, Wake Forest, N.C.State, BC, etc. until Jesus returns but until they can beat the Tigers and the Noles consistently they are playing for third place in the ACC. Are the lower tier teams in the Coastal better than the lower tier teams in the Atlantic? I honestly don't know. You would probably have to go back 3-5 years and look at the 3 worst teams in each division and compare the results. However, I do agree that the Coastal teams like Miami and VT will probably improve dramatically next year but UNC will have to beat Clemson or FSU consistently to be considered a threat to their supremacy. Regardless of your positioning today that in no way detracts from the fact that you had an excellent team and a great 2015 season. Congratulations and Merry Christmas!

FSU is 13-2 against UNC with an average score of 33-15

Clemson won 7 of the last 9 and is 34-16-1 overall

If UNC, Miami, and VT again challenge the Atlantic top teams...it will make the ACC strong.

UNC is looking good....Miami should be swinging back into the Canes of old, and VT could build.

I think Clemson will be good for some years, FSU should stay up for a while. I don't know about Virginia. Wake, Cuse, and BC could have some good years, but can they sustain?
