I see everyone is coming back..yeah. How does our recruiting look... been in grad school for the last 2 years so I have not kept up with recruiting...just the games.

Consensus seems to be a legit final four contender.

I think i feel better about 2016-2017 than I did about this past yr. Lot of experience and some good talent coming in.

I agree. Marcus outside shot was off for the majority of the season. If Justin can improve his outside shot he will offset Marcus outside shooting. Pinson is a beast. Berry will shoot more from the outside and Williams will be bombing away. Final four team and possibly winning it all.

We still have a few ifs. Meeks playing like we know he can, hicks staying out of foul trouble, and Justin doing what we know he can. Justin seemed to disappear last year. That cannot happen. If those three are corrected, then the sky is the limit.
The bench will be in question. We will need the frosh to step up as well. The returning sophs should have a better handle on things. Not ready to amount them with FF contenders, but we will once again have the crew to beat anyone in the country. Can this team dominate their opponents will be the question.
Meeks to me will be a large part of the equation. I am not sure what had him held back last year, but we don't have time for him to under achieve. I know he was hurt for a few weeks, but something else was off. Hope he has a goal this year and proves it. We have seen splashes of what he is capable of.

There are still a few kids out there not committed to any school...wonder about them as only one has us listed, see below, the others few are beyond a long shot.

Jarrett Allen, Saint Stephen’s Episcopal (Austin, Texas), C

ESPN 100 Overall Ranking: No. 15

CONSIDERING: Texas, Kentucky, Kansas, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Houston.

THE 411: The word is and has always been that it would be quite the chore to lure the 6-foot-10 big man away from the Lone Star State and our most recent intel suggests that Texas is strong with Allen. As the top ranked center in the ESPN 100, Allen is a gifted rebounder, shot blocker and finisher who has consistently improved year-to-year. He’s maintained that the biggest factor that will go into his decision is how well the coaches develop their bigs.

Thanks for the info. Glad we look that good. Was so happy everything returned...I was wondering if a class of just 2 was enough. Fingers crossed for a 3rd!

Bradley will play significant minutes due to questions regarding Meeks' stamina/health and Hicks being very foul prone. And IMO, JRob will push for immediate PT at SG, especially if Williams's shot isn't much improved. Not sure what to expect from Woods initially. He is supposedly quite good defensively and a ferocious dunker.

Tom, I just don't see us adding any more to 2016, maybe something drops in our laps but I don't see it.

I don't think Roy will hesitate to go to our small ball look next season and I am not the greatest fan of small ball in general but I do love the combination of Justin and Theo on the court together. I suspect that Roy may be losing a bit of patience with Meeks, the December to April swoons we have seen over the last couple years have to have already ended or Roy will sit Meeks and frankly, if it happens again he should.

Would not surprise me to see Tony as primary back up at the center spot for Meeks and Theo be the 4 backing up Hicks and I would not be shocked to see Tony able to claim that starting center spot. IMO, our small ball look with Theo at the 4 worked great when Brice or Hicks were the "big man" in the game, I didn't see it as nearly as effective when Meeks was the big man in. I strongly suspect Tony can be very effective in this role and know Hicks is and know Meeks needs to develop that or he will find less PT as a sr than he got as a Jr.

I am disappointed that I have yet to read anything official from Roy or the school about injury that caused the drop off we saw this past season or the season before, really wish I had seen some official explain. Because without that I kinda don't have any place to look other than at the player himself and question the passion for the game, the will to succeed, the desire for excellence. I don't know about yall but for me personally, I really need to see the kid find a upper level of play well above what I have so far seen. I need to see that for the whole season and not just thru November. He needs to get things figured out and it isn't like he has a ton of time to do so, this is the off season before your senior season, should had most of this figured out by now...

I completely agree, Dave. I have been expecting an explanation for Kennedy's dropoff last year, I was convinced it was injury related. Now I'm not so sure because I think it would have been made public in order to take some pressure off Kennedy.

He is an enigma to me. Is it an injury issue? Is it a stamina issue? Is he one of those laid back guys that just isn't as driven as some? Is it none of the above or a combination of one or more of them? At this point, I haven't a clue.

I am convinced that he needs a stellar year to have a chance at the NBA. I'm pulling hard for the big guy. When Brice was crying on his shoulder after the finals loss, Kennedy looked devastated himself. He had to be thinking that if he'd just had a decent game, the outcome would probably have been different. So I'm really hoping he has a chance to atone.

I stated he looked a little too comfortable sitting on the bench while injured last season. 2 seasons in a row of some mysterious thing hampering him. Hope this mysterious ailment will go away during the off season

PJ Washington is going to visit so that's something. Knox already has so we can't count him out. Does anyone know if Bamba, Tilmon, or Carter are interested in visiting or will at some point? Along with Brandon Randolph and Mitchell Robinson?

I don't see Woods as a Vince Carter-esque player. I see him as a better version of Dexter Strickland. He can finish at the rim and is very athletic....but he's no where near Carter IMO.

I'm excited by all of our recruits. I think 7th will grow to be a Tar Heel favorite. He has an awesome combination of skill, athleticism, intelligence, attitude/coachability, and motor/work ethic. He seems like the type to get in the gym and work your tail off on your weaknesses. He could have a D. Noel career arc or break out by the end of next season! Watching him play will be a joy!
