So UGA just beat Nicholls State by 2 points

And to think the Bulldogs beat so us easily, yet struggle with a small time football team. This does not bode well for us moving forward.

Well, it was a first game. Neither we, nor GA, looked like a top 20 team in my opinion. How they move up so much in the polls is beyond me.

But they didn't easily beat us. In some ways we beat ourselves with poor play calling, but they won and played better than we did.

Clemson struggled with Troy today as well.

Any team that just sticks with the run will compete with UNC , slows down the game, and works on the weak spot...

Which is we have a very small chance of beating Florida State. Dalvin Cook will destroy us.

Heck, Pitt's stable of RBs will give us fits too. Go back and watch the Pitt game from last year. Ollison was running all over us, but we built up a big first half lead and Pitt inexplicably abandoned the running game too early.

We should've blown UGA out. If it weren't for the garbage play calling we would have. Might as well just start scheduling one of the two yearly FCS opponents week 1.

Yeah, we can't count on outscoring the big boys. As soon as our uptempo offense has a couple of 45 second 3-and-outs, our D doesn't stand a chance of keeping us in the game.

Georgia could win their division. Tennessee looked pretty lame. The Gators struggled last season.

Who else is there? South Carolina? GA probably has a good shot at winning it, especially if Eason develops quickly as a freshman QB.

i had the thought after the game that we could go on a winning streak and the national press would diss us with but carolina lost to a bad ga team.
i don't believe it will happen but after week 2 it's still a possiblity

If Georgia has a good year, it mitigates our loss to them. If they suck, like the 'Cocks last year, it makes our loss seem worse. Hopefully, we'll rebound strongly and Georgia will prove to be a good team. That would help our ranking down the road. So that game(UGA vs NSU) does potentially have some bearing on us.

There were several SMFH games today Clemson-Troy was definitely one, CMU beating OKState on a ref blunder (gasp!!) , Bama didn't look great beating WKU and LSU was struggling with J'ville State.

I get what you're saying and I agree with your logic, but it still sucks. Hoping a loss looks "better" at the end of the year is such a soul-crushing thing to hope for
