Some Really Good ACC Games Today (Friday)

Nine ACC games today (Friday). These sound particular good to me.

1:30 - #67 Wake vs #2 Villanova ESPN2
1:30 - #20 Clemson vs #16 Xavier ESPNU
4:30 - #54 Pitt vs #40 Marquette ESPN2
7:00 - #9 Syracuse vs #82 Monmouth ACCN

Projected as losses for all but Syracuse, but it would be fun if we see some upsets.

I like to see (most) ACC teams win. But I'll root for Monmouth today. Nothing against Syracuse and want Boeheim to have a good last couple of years. But I always liked King Rice and he's family.

I watched that game vs. Davidson yesterday, they are really good.

Thanks for the heads up, WWJD. LIKE YOU, I normally pull for ACC teams, with 2 obvious exceptions. But I'll be pulling for King's team. I want to see WF play. Manning may turn out to be a good coach.

I think this is the year Manning has to start proving it. He inherited a few good guys when he got here but they're gone. I think these are now all (or nearly all) his guys.

Glancing at Pomeroy, it looks like they start 3 sophs and 2 juniors. Two 6'10 guys up front.

Hard to know how good they are - despite starting with 3 20-point wins - because this is their first serious test.

One thing I look at with coaches is what happens to a program when they leave. Tulsa has fallen apart after Manning had them very respectable. I think Danny's not bad, but you're right, time to prove it at Wake.

Indeed, guys. Poor Wake had it going on before Prosser's untimely death. I really like that man and he could coach his rear off and was a very good recruiter. So sad to see him pass. Wake has struggled since he moved on to that gym in the sky.
