CBS Sports Tiers

Dabo is in the most elite group, Bear Bryant Tier, with Saban and Meyer.

Kirby Smart and Lincoln Riley are already in the second highest Tier, the Steve Spurrier.

2 and 5/8ths ACC coaches are in the 3rd Tier, the Barry Alvarez: Mark Richt, Bobby Petrino, and Brian Kelly. Dave Doeren gets Honorable Mention for that Tier.

The fourth Tier, Howard Schnellenberger, has 3 ACC coaches: Willie Taggert, David Cutcliffe, and Dave Clawson.

The Lavelle Edwards Tier is only about non-P5, so no ACC coaches.

Next up is the Hal Mumme Tier: All Over the Place. It features 3 ACC coaches: Paul Johnson, Bronco Mendenhall, and Larry Fedora.

The Greg Schiano Tier is Coaches Moving Up. It has Justin Fuente.

The Jim Mora Tier: Jury's still out has Pat Narduzzi.

Of course all that is part of 'the record.' For example, Miss St, which is the 3rd smallest SEC school and is the #2 school and #2 football program in a small state, is among the bottom 5 in the 14 team SEC in terms of football history (with Vandy, Kentucky, Mizzou, and SoCar). That means that what Mullen did in Starkville, playing in the BRUTAL SEC West, is amazing.
