Pitt fan here who just came over to say I'll be pulling for the Tar Heels in your game against the Gamecocks this week. I always pull for ACC Conference teams when they play nonconference games. Even when Pitt was in the Big East, I rooted for every team except West Virginia- I just couldn't bring myself to pull for the Mountaineers- to win their nonconference games for the perception of the conference. A win by UNC over USC will really enhance national perception as to the strength of the ACC. Best of luck and I look forward to your team and fans coming to Heinz Field this season.

epittm, what are your thoughts on your new coach?? My own view is that he is a HUGE upgrade but I guess time will tell. Im sure he has more energy than the last coach.
I'd love to hear @epittm 's take as well. The Panthers look to fix their defense by hiring one of the best DCs in the biz as HC. Probably a lot of optimism right now. On the other hand, many coordinators aren't cut out for the head job. Should be an interesting season.
Most Pitt fans were very happy to see the old coach gone. The new coach Narduzzi has been well received based upon his stellar reputation as a defensive coordinator. He has brought in a much better group of assistants than Chryst had so that should help. Right now, Narduzzi is saying all the right things and is full of energy and excitement for all things Pitt. I can only go by my gut feeling and my feeling is that he will do very well here. Of course, it may take a few years as Pitt isn't a school that is loaded with top notch recruits. However, Michigan State recruited no better than Pitt the last 5 years and look at the success the Spartans have had, especially the defense under Narduzzi. Keep your fingers crossed that Pitt does well as it will only make the ACC stronger.Part way through the season, I will get back to you guys and let you know the feelings at that time toward our new coach. By the way, Pitt got a new AD and that actually generated more enthusiasm than replacing Chryst. The old AD was obviously not well liked. The new Ad has already said script Pitt will be on all athletic uniforms starting in 2017. Good move. Script Pitt already is on the football helmets so you'll be able to see what I am talking about. I think Narduzzi could be a great hire for Pitt. He has ties back to childhood to eastern OH football, and Pittsburgh is right at the OH border. For Pitt football to get back to winning fairly big, it must sign and develop a large number of quality OH and PA players, and then use the ACC membership to fill out the roster with guys from the South. Narduzzi can do that.
My advice to Pitt now: get Dorsett and Marino and other Pitt greats to come back for games.

I've been waiting to see what Pitts was going to bring to the ACC table. Just realized Pitts got a decent win % against Nebraska.
