With sports betting now becoming legal. Anybody gonna get active/more active with this? I have never been much a gambler and have friends with serious gambling problems.

I have a securities license for over 20 years and dabbled in options 20 years ago, but did not have time to mess with that. Options (other than covered calls) are pretty much legalized gambling.

What are best legal sites for sports betting?

If I do bet, I will probably avoid anything UNC as heart over heart is usually not good in betting. Especially with unknown suspended football players.

Interestingly enough, DraftKings is a client of mine and the guys there were asking my opinions because they know I gamble. Basically, they asked why I'd stay with my bookie, here are my thoughts:

- my bookie doesn't tax any winnings over $600 like DK will (and most legal sites)
- my bookie gives me $ on people I refer to him's losses (DK will do bonuses I'm sure but how good will they be)

On the DK side, their interface will be 1000x better than my bookies and I can pull my funds right away.

I can stiff a bookie if times got real hard. Or at least attempt to reason with him and ask for credit. Can't do that on credit card. Plus, I have a problem gambling without having to turn over cash. I could get in real trouble by having a credit card on file. No way. Lastly, my wife would know about credit card activity. When I gamble, I'm Randy Moss. Straight cash, homie.

I'd rather stiff a credit card company than a bookie. Would be worse for my credit, but better for my knee caps. Gambling on credit is a terrible idea, but I don't see an issue with gambling using a credit card if you have the cash to back it up.

That is what I thought. Wonder if they get them up an running before start of college season.

No way. Internet sports betting will never be sanctioned just like mail order weed won’t ever be sanctioned.

But also, nobody cares if you bet on 5Dimes or Bovada or anywhere else. I will be happy to give you a 101 class.
