Had this view at the game from the sideline through a friend connected to the team. Pretty cool! I was standing near Mitch Trubisky and Naz Jones, and got to talk with both of them for a couple of minutes. They were both pretty excited about the draft, Trubisky has a couple more workouts this week and Naz has one and then they are done. Naz said he hasn't talked to most of the defensive coaches, but had very nice things to say about Deke Adams. Knew his son was a baller who may end up coming here.

I was happy the stands were pretty full at least. Looked liked about 4,000 people at the game, and we had the band there too. There were about 20-30 rows sectioned off for player's families and recruits. I was over there for awhile too. I still wish we could get more people out, but it looked good given the stands were so small. I'd still love to see us get half as many people as most other Southern flagship schools do for their spring games.

I don't have too many super insightful observations; as a football novice it's especially hard for me to watch line play when at the game. Jalen Dalton had a sack, and I thought he and Marlon Dunlap looked pretty good. I didn't notice Jake Lawler or any of the other top line recruits during the game. Dalton is so imposing standing on the sidelines, he's the only guy I've seen that is bigger than Naz.

I was not particularly impressed with the backs and QBs. Jacob Schmitt was probably the most impressive RB. Michael Carter got a lot of carries but never looked particularly explosive. I expect Stanton Truitt to start based on yesterday. Chaz Surratt looked good and had that one nice run, but also missed balls. Logan Byrd had a really good throwing motion but he kept missing people, probably even moreso than Chaz. Nathan Elliot seemed like the best passer (didn't show much running though), as he was accurate for the most part. He's still underwhelming in that he's small, not particularly fast, and doesn't have a great arm (he had a deep ball where the receiver was wide open, but instead almost turned into a pick because he floated it there). I still fully expect Brandon Harris to start.

At wideout if you saw the boxscore you know Juvall Mollette and Roscoe Johnson looked great. Roscoe I'm not sure about his speed but everything else was there yesterday, he kind of came out of nowhere! He has decent size too. And I stood right next to Juvall, he is big and made great plays on the ball. I feel pretty hopeful about him. ARW didn't have a great game but it seems the coaches will keep him very involved next year. The starting receivers with Chaz were Proehl, Thomas Jackson, and Cabrera, and Proehl and Jackson looked good as expected. Carl Tucker started at tight end but I didn't notice anything from him.

The secondary looked really good and I saw lots of good plays from different guys. Myles Wolfolk and Jaye Stackhouse (he's related to Jerry) both stood out. Tre Shaw got beat for a deep touchdown (by Mollette I think) but it looked like there should have been safety help over the top.
