I am thinking on bum ankles and having played Sat. nite that Berry will not be Berry so go with one of the healthy guys. I have complete faith in White to run the point and he is healty and older and has tourney experience. Then play Berry some in the second half.

You're literally the last person I'd want coaching our team.

April Fool's was yesterday. Nice try though.

Good idea. Let's keep Meeks, Hicks, JJ, and Theo on the bench until the second half. They will be so well rested that it will be a cakewalk.

I am just thinking the ankle would swell up again after how hard he played Sat. Nite. Didn't expect so many negatives to respond. Both White and Woods are good pgs. And Berry is hurt .

Berry at 50% is better than white and 7 combined. White has no speed and is no threat to score, limited defender. 7 is TO prone can't shoot, is an ok not great defender. No Berry and we take a giant step back. ON BOTH ENDS.

I agree that most of us have a huge amount of confidence in White running the point. So I would tweak your idea a bit and say if during the course of the game Berry looks like he is having a tough go of it then put in Stillman for a few short breaks. Woods IMO is not as reliable at this point. He will have his day down the line.

This poast could / maybe / should make the worst poast of the 2017 NCAAT hall of fame .. and in the lead for the 2017 overall .. but 2017 is still young .. you have set the bar high my friend ..jmho

Not the same team without the lead "dog" out there. He will be so pumped he will forget about the ankles hurting.

Guys I was just thinking a healthy back up like White who is older and a heads up type player may serve better than a guy that is hurt so bad he could not make a free throw at the end of the game last nite. I hope Berry can play well but he said he was about 85 percent for the Oregon game and he struggled. So he may have even less ability to go Monday nite.

Although I liked most of the other poasts....I am not trying to be a smart a$$...but did you watch any games this season?? If you did then you had to have seen just how IMPORTANT JB is to this team....to even suggest that he NOT be on the court is...well it is crazy and is flat out not going to happen if JB can walk!!!! 48 Hours of a rehabbed JB gives us the absolute best chance to win this game....and that is not a knock on Stillman or Seventh...it is simply the facts!!!!

Hey I hope so but if you are hurt you are hurt. The talking heads give us no chance to win this game so this will be a special win.

This and the wristwatch thread are perfect.

Just getting your post count up with this nonsense ! put some legit content in your post.
You want Berry chunking 3's on bad ankles versus White playing with in his ability and doing what he can for the team ?

Gacman I have watched every game or listened to them since I was about 10 years old going back to 1981. Let me tell you what I was thinking. He played very hard on 2 bad ankles for what 35 mins. sat. nite. Now less than 48 hours later he will be called upon to do it again. His shot is off. he will not be effective on defense and he will be hurt and I am thinking that at halftime these ankles will stiffen up. Or the simple truth is this is not Joel Berry with these injuries. I hope Berry can go but after last nite it will not be the Berry we are accustomed to seeing. I do admire the gritty tough son of gun that he is. I pray for quick healing for him. I hope and believe we win tomorrow nite also. Gonna take a great team performance.

Dude can you not form a better response ? Maybe like I don't agree and this is why ?

Berry woke up this AM with no stiffness in the ankles. He'll be much better tomorrow night, his ineffectiveness yesterday I'll put off to not being sharp due to the week's missed practices . . it happens. He's had all day today and will have basically all day tomorrow to heal up.

The kid is a warrior . . he's gonna want to play far more than any of us want to see him to play.

GO HEELS

Except that JB says his ankles feel better this morning than before the Oregon game, so the whole thing is probably moot

Is this correct ? I glanced at a headline that said something like JB feels better than he expected he would ? If he feels better the morning after playing than he did after 5 days treatment than that is indeed great news. I hope he goes out and scores 30 points !

Berry just played not so good, he was feeling fine.. He will be much better Monday..

Berry and the trainer both said (this evening) that he's in better shape than expected. He will not only start, he's going to have a HUGE game.
Bleed what does that really mean though? That he may be at 70 percent or 80 percent or what you know ? I do hope he has a great game and Jackson likewise. Would love to see the Seniors have great games to end their career also.

Just meant that he will start and (like last night) play 30+ minutes. I fully expect him to shoot the ball much better and continue to play good defense.

I believe he will start just wondering how effective he can be. I hope he has a monster game also.

The thing a healthy JB brings to our game is that ability to drive the offense and the others feed off that. They are much more confident with him in there and he has the ability to change a game. Stillman, as much as I love him, doesn't have that same ability. Neither does Woods at this point. I disagree on some comments about him, as I think he is just too inexperienced right now. I remember people trashing Ty Lawson and Ray Felton early on, too.

Anyway, JB is the PG that Roy needs to drive his offense and no one we have, regardless of his health at this point, is as good. JB can either drive and dish, drive and take a shot or Step back and kill you from downtown. He can push the offense under control to make the fast break a killer. He has great court vision and rarely turns it over because of a stupid decision.

Was he hurting last night? Of course he was. He tried to play through it and had some good looks, but it was obvious he wasn't the same JB we saw a month ago. Still, having him on the court as much as he can possibly go give us our best chance to win.

Now, where I think our biggest advantage is tomorrow is our ability to go fast. Yes, they have size and depth to match ours, but NO ONE on that team can hang with us if we get going in the running game. That depth won't help one bit and their big men simply cannot run up and down the floor with ours. If we can push the tempo, we could win this one going away. JB is absolutely key to making that happen.

I am not going to trash you over the post (I, too, don't understand why people can't spell POST right), since I understand what you were saying. I just don't think that scenario would be a good one for us.

I thought that's what I was doing!!! Hey, we all say things that others disagree with. We are all family here so don't get too bent out of shape. Go Heels.

Yes, according to him the ankles feel better than yesterday.

reporter: How did the ankles respond, and how do they feel today and do you feel like they'll be better or worse tomorrow than they were yesterday?

to which JB responded that they feel better, and had no stiffness, which was his biggest concern.

how about, what if berry can't play?
britt played well last game and i would go with the hot hand.
????
He says he feels better than two days ago. Only way he doesn't play is for some thing(s) unrelated to happen to him I don't even want to mention here.
Britt played pretty well for the 22 minutes he was in. By pretty well, I mean maybe as well as Nate can....but if we had to rely on some combo of Nate, Stilman, and 7 to absorb JB's 35 minutes, plus the normal minutes these 3 get, we have no chance. Zero. But why even bring it up if he says he's good to go.

FYI - Britt's "hot hand" was making two shots and 3 assists (and 4 fouls) in 22 minutes. Again, if this is the hot hand we would be relying on, we are totally screwed.

britts "hot hand" was hotter than 7th or whites "hot hand."
it was a what if question, nothing more.

I didn't trash you Clark. I trashed your thread which is what everybody else on here has done. Also don't trash our players. Lucky to have every one of them no matter how big or small their role is.
