Discussion
The Marquette game marked the first NCAA tournament win for most players on the team. It was a game the Heels dominated from start, scoring 1.03 points per possession while holding Marquette to 0.72 points per possession. Overall the stats were excellent, but not historic. The one standout stat is the Percent Loss of Ball. Both teams were 11%, which is the 140th cleanest game for UNC since 1996. The allowance of 11% by the opponent was the 162nd worst performance for UNC in the category of forcing turnovers. That's not a concern, however, as the Heels won this game early in the contest. Marquette shot 36% from the field and 26% from behind the arc, and that was all she wrote!
