• The Tar Heels are now 16-2 overall, 5-0 in the ACC and 10-0 at the Smith Center.

• Williams is 766-204 in 28 seasons as a head coach, including 348-103 in 13 seasons at Carolina.
• Carolina scored 67 points, which matches its season low (also had 67 in a loss at Northern Iowa).
• The Tar Heels scored 29 points in the first half, which was its second-lowest half of the season (26 in second half at Northern Iowa) and its lowest in a first half (previous low 30 vs. Kansas State).

• Carolina held the ACC’s leading scorer Cat Barber to a season-low nine points on 4 of 11 shooting from the floor, a season-high tying five turnovers and no free throw attempts. Barber had been averaging 8.7 free throw attempts this season.
PLAYER NOTES
• Kennedy Meeks scored a game-high 23 points (one more than NC State’s top two scorers combined in the game) and had six rebounds and three blocks.
• It was Meeks’ 40th career double-figure scoring game and his fourth with at least 20 points. It was his top scoring game since he has a career-high 25 against Temple in the season opener.
• Meeks was 10 for 16 from the floor for the game, including 8 for 10 in the second half. The rest of UNC’s starters made 11 field goals for the game (5 by Berry); take out Meeks’ 10 for 16 and the rest of the Tar Heels shot 15 for 50 (30 percent).
• Joel Berry II scored 14 points and had four assists. It was Berry’s ninth straight game scoring in double figures. He is the only Tar Heel to score in double figures in each of the last nine games.
• Berry was 5 for 9 from the floor. The rest of UNC’s perimeter players made 4 of 28 shots from the floor.
• Marcus Paige scored three points for the second consecutive game and did not make a three-point field goal for the first time in 42 games.
• Paige’s streak of 41 consecutive games with a 3FG is the UNC record and ties the eighth-longest streak in ACC history.
